A swat standoff that began at 1 a.m. Monday morning turned into a manhunt about four hours later.

Police say the man they’re now looking for has a background in law enforcement in Bexar County.

It all started at the Doubletree Hotel in the 1600 block of North I-35. That's between East 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police received a call about a domestic dispute from inside a Doubletree hotel room. When authorities arrived, a woman involved in the dispute told them the man was still inside that room.

Four and a half hours later, after the SWAT team took all necessary precautions, they found out no one was there. So, a manhunt has now begun.

The man is white, 27-years-old, 5’8’’, 185 pounds, wearing a black shirt and white shorts.

Basically dude beatin on the girl was former san antonio sheriff's dept guy. APD couldn't get into the room, so they assumed he'd barricaded himself in. APD proceeded to freak that he'd come out guns blazing, so they spent four hours clearing everybody off the fifth & sixth floors (lol @ 60 people wanting comp rooms) and got their battering rams and shotguns and tear gas ready and finally took down the door and dude was gone.

i didn't have the heart to tell them we have 4 or 5 doors that only open if you turn the handle upwards.

Police are investigating a hacked moleskine found in the Star Seeds parking lot.

I do think it'd be a difficult decision, whether to comp the rooms. Sizeable loss of revenue, but hey, shit happens. This ain't the Ritz.

Well the reason they want their room comped is that they were woken up at 1 am and moved to new rooms by members of the Austin SWAT team.

Nah honestly I think it's totally fair to be upset about it and want some kind of compensation for the shit that went down, and "just comp my room and we'll call it even" is usually the first recourse in that kind of situation. It's frustrating that corporate will comp a guy's room if he complains loud enough about his mattress being "too soft," but they won't let us compensate people who get shuffled around in their pajamas by dudes with assault rifles.

I can guarantee you at least a dozen people would demand that their rooms be comped though.

All I know is that I'd go into work with a deep sense of dread anticipating having to deal with lots of angry people.
