“Josh Charles approached us almost a year ago about wanting to leave the series,” Michelle and Robert King said. Charles was looking to leave the series at the end of last season, the show’s fourth, when his contract was up. After playing the character for four years, the actor indicated he was ready to move on.

More Diane can't be a bad thing. Sad about this though -- not so much for the character but 'cause Charles was just so much fun to watch in this role. Amazing comic timing.

The TV show seemed like a parody of the ramblings of True Detective.
― rawr, Monday, 14 April 2014 16:39 (ten years ago) link
It used to be a straight-up parody of Low Winter Sun, but they definitely threw in a little True Detective this week.

I caught the B-52s video for "Good Stuff" yesterday, and Fred Schneider is very David Lee-esque in it. Really adds a level.

Anyone know the first song in the opening scene last night (4/27)? Mid- to late- 80s industrial (Wax Trax style) track. I used to hear it in clubs all the time back then but can't remember who it is now.
Second song in the scene was Trust's "Bulbform" which I was equally surprised and pleased to hear.

Ha -- found a clip online and played it three or four times trying to jog my memory, and suddenly realized it's "Chains" by Gatekeeper from like four years ago. I listened to that a lot right when it came out precisely because it reminded me so much of my clubbing days.

We're watching this on Amazon Prime and are about a quarter of the way through season 3 so I skipped all the posts to avoid spoilers but I love this show. Julianna Margulies is so pretty. I also like how nobody's hair is perfect. Also Matt Czuchry... whoa.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 19 June 2014 14:06 (ten years ago) link
I do not understand your last two sentences together I mean Matt Czuchry is like flawless.

Wonder if OITNB inspired this storyline.
― Hakeem Olajuwon Howard (Leee), Tuesday, 23 September 2014 17:58 (ten years ago) link
does it have anything to do with the reason the/an oitnb lead is imprisoned?
cuz i would think it fits in perfectly with the good wife writers' zeal for depicting under-scrutinized horrors/absurdities of dealing with the legal system / government / surveillance bros
― j., Tuesday, 23 September 2014 20:48 (ten years ago) link
That was an amazing opener, let alone for a sixth season.
― Chuck_Tatum, Tuesday, 23 September 2014 22:21 (ten years ago) link
Yeah, I watched it with my cousin who had never seen any of the show before and she was hooked right away.
