ah, THAT'S what that backpack is! i've got one (from the top of the mountian), I just couldn't figure out what it was. I thought it might have some sandwiches and a thermos in there.

i've been saving my games after almost every mission, just in case it does a 'vice city' on me. i haven't any bugs so far.

did you lose much ?

no, i'd just been driving around bumping up my skills a bit, no biggie really. I tend to go and save after every mission now, unless it's a really easy one.

Finally did just business last night, which was a relief. I need to put in a concerted effort on it though, which is going to be tricky as I'm away all weekend and football manager 2005 is arriving on Friday.

has anyone had the crazy bug in san andreas that when you kill somebody, sometimes they don't go through the dying motions but instead freezes in a "being shot" or "being run over" pose???!?!! it's a bug but it's pretty cool.

Fatboy always avoids him for me, the thing I realised is just face backwards all the time, only turning round to blast the gates. I did it easily last night (which annoyed me no end) and didn't even manage to hit the red barrels!

yeah I've seen that it was a little spooky, when I said I'd not noticed any bugs I meant game threatening ones.

I've also seen a couple of pedestrians stuck under the pavement with just their heads bopping on the surface. I was in the middle of a frantic run at the time so didn't have time to stop and tread on them.

xpost, its a great mission and one which I am not annoyed at for having to retry.

Last night I was casually walking across a road when a man got out of a car for apparently no reason and just ran off, there were no shots and no other crimes being committed.
I stood in front of his car and suddendly a police chopper appeared above me and shone its lights on me, so I moved away from the car in fear of being told off and the chopper eventually flew off.

Why was I scared of that? I didn't even have a wanted level.

I think Just Business depends on killing all the people chasing you in enough time. You have infinite ammo once you're on the bike so if you just hold the button down and spray the bikes like mad while you aim at the riders you should pick em off OK.

I heard you could ride trains around and the such.

You don't have to take over all the turf to get to SF. Just finish all the missions in Los Santos (including the obligatory car race).

i've spent the whole night last night fighting gang wars (and losing) haha i think my strategy of running towards a gang of 8 people on my own all guns blazing wasn't the cleverest (it sure if fun though).

ah cool.
I've figured out how to get a gang, but it seems that whenever we start shooting at others, I get a couple of stars. And by the time the cops show up, my guys are all dead, and I'm fleeing on foot.

sussed it, i actually thought Cesars mission was just a bonus lowrider dancing one but i was wrong. I'm on the second island now, love them bridges.

I also assume Cesar is the character from the '187' movie, with the voice of the same guy too.

my gang members are shite and I'll win gang wars without them no probs, so far.

I think you have to have done a certain mission to trigger gang wars, I forget. If your map's colour coded green, purple and yellow according to territory you've done it. You usually get body armour or a health pickup after each wave so they're not that hard. If you look where the enemy guys are on the radar you can get ready to target them with a good weapon and shoot them before they even get near you.

I did the low rider race in one attempt, I was very relieved. The last few plot missions before the second city are pretty cool. I felt really disorientated and isolated after getting dumped in the middle of nowhere (during the first mission there I was getting chased by loads of police and FBI in a big police car so I rolled it off Mt. Chilliad, survived with an insane stunt bonus and then offroaded through a bunch of trees with helicopters overhead to drop the photos off at the last second, it were mad good). Now I have a nice house on a big road that allows me to shoot people until I have lots of stars then nip back in and put some sunglasses on to lose the wanted rating.

i just discovered that you can actully attach the truck trailers to the truck cabs, how very clever.

I made a break for it on the third island, its very colourful with its neon lights it looks like Vice City. I managed to evade the cops whilst listening to "Free Bird". Me and my car blew up in the end.

OK, not to spoil anything, but eventually after you do a handful of missions in Las Venturas there's one where you have to fly a jet to a surprise mission-only area that isn't even on the map. I'll just leave it at that.

Right. You have to fly out to a little marker several (in-game) miles over the ocean and then all of a sudden you're there.

The jokes seem a bit more redundant in their peurile nature (Area 69, Pier 69, the San Fierro 69ers, about 90 puns on the word "wanker") but that's the game's only real downside for me so far. That and the occasional framerate choke.

The trains just seem the same as they were in GTA3, they are fairly useful to get around if you know where you're going. Although there is a cargo train which has flat bed carriages too.

I haven't really checked but there are railway lines linking islands so I would guess yes, I'm going to play it again now so will have a look.
