otm, also worth noting they didnt sell very many at the begining

if a decent # of early adopting rich ppls decide they kinda like paying for something w/ their apple watch, maybe there's this hustle for stores to sign up, the payments network develops into something actually kinda useful

Contactless payment is incredibly convenient if done right

i think the idea is they will use the same stations at the cards with chips that are finally coming to america soon do

so apple doesnt really have to worry abt the infurstructure

of course instead of buying the $400 watch u cld just take yr wallet out and wave it in from of the sensor too

i'm outside the target demo for this (imo misguided) WATCH, but watches should be cool and stylish, basically jewelry with some functionality. fitness watches should be as cheap, light, durable, and unprecious as possible. not having a chest strap would be cool tho. fwiw i guess i think the watch looks cool and stylish.

this is true but imo what communicates that luxury is how they make extremely functional things and if this watch isnt good for much its not going to sell cause as jewelry its no good, the apple brand isnt going to be effective if theyre not actually embodying it

I was wondering if they're going to have famous watchmakers design "faces" for it for extra $

the watch just looks like a watch to me, if I saw someone wearing it on the subway I wouldn't notice

I mean I don't want to go overboard on stanning for this watch b4 it even properly exists, it might not become a huge category for them next year or maybe ever, but it looks thoughtful, tactile, personal, and attractive, and you can customize the watch face, come on. I'll be interested to see how long it takes for them to drive down the bottom price point on the watch and what their strategy is for that, but I dunno if I'll be able to wait that long to get one.

ya im just saying as a watch its not a very good design, but maybe thats okay since its not really a watch

watch enthusiasts have reason to dislike this right, since apple's goal is to kill non-apple watches dead

friend of mines dad owns a million dollar watch plus a bunch of $100k+ ones, grody

part of the problem might be that it's too cheap at $350, even poor people can afford it

they should make a U2 version for $5000

I can now open the door and drive my car without taking my keys out of my pocket. I look forward to this new world of never reaching in my pockets.
