Yeah Verizon has a $60 a month plan that's pretty sweet for single users

I'm trying to get a family share thing going

Might move to Cricket or Straight Talk

$60 a month without a subsidised phone? Ha – you can get that deal for £23 (£37.50) a month over in the UK, with unlimited data, minutes and texts.

Alba, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:51 (nine years ago) link

Or £15 if you don't need unlimited minutes.

Alba, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:51 (nine years ago) link

we dont appreciate hearing abt other countries phone plans in the usa

lag∞n, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:52 (nine years ago) link

Your phone won't work in America tho

, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:52 (nine years ago) link

They confiscate that shit at the border. Security risk

, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:52 (nine years ago) link

we r too busy innovating for u to have cheap phone plans

lag∞n, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:53 (nine years ago) link

im building a new internet right now

lag∞n, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:53 (nine years ago) link

Yeah, I discovered recently that innovation v cheapness is actually the justification for broadband being so expensive in the US. And the US might be right! It's just we're still waiting on that innovation.

Alba, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 20:59 (nine years ago) link

my phone plan has to work across a reasonable part of 9.6 million square kilometers, not some piddly island

⌘-B (mh), Wednesday, 24 September 2014 21:01 (nine years ago) link

broadband is expensive because we have roughly one person per square kilometer in the US

⌘-B (mh), Wednesday, 24 September 2014 21:02 (nine years ago) link

that was an exaggeration, it's more like 32

⌘-B (mh), Wednesday, 24 September 2014 21:03 (nine years ago) link

That would only make sense for broadband in an infrastructure set-up where companies can't cherry-pick high-density areas. It goes back to the 2002 FCC ruling:

Getting the dock connector repair kit, even though I got an iPhone 6. I can see one of the pins in my iPhone 5 is all squished down, and it has been destroying lightning cables (pin gets all oxidized for some reason). Wish me luck!

schwantz, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 22:39 (nine years ago) link

6+ really does seem a bit bendy

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Wednesday, 24 September 2014 23:50 (nine years ago) link

lag∞n, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 23:56 (nine years ago) link

eleven million jeezo. does that add up to the price of an iphone 6 plus?

i just watched one where a guy said "you don't want to get into actions like extreme sitting" [with it in your pocket]

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Wednesday, 24 September 2014 23:57 (nine years ago) link

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 23:58 (nine years ago) link

Dunno what rates are like now but 11 million hits should easily cover the cost of a iphone 6 plus

, Wednesday, 24 September 2014 23:58 (nine years ago) link
