Thinking of Dali photos and his muses, I like the wiki extract for Amanda Lear:
Lear's origins are unclear, with the singer herself providing different information regarding her background and keeping her birth year a secret even from her long-term husband. Contested facts include her birth date and place, her birth sex, names and nationalities of her parents and the location of her upbringing.

Trying to find the latest photo of Dali posing with someone noteworthy. Didn't realize he didn't die until 1989.
Coincidentally just came across this, apparently from 83:

Kubrick & Brando.
― nauru, Monday, 5 January 2015 00:27 (nine years ago) link
One-Eyed Jacks, a 1961 Western, is the only film directed by actor Marlon Brando. The picture was originally planned to be directed by Stanley Kubrick from a screenplay by Sam Peckinpah, but studio disputes led to their replacement by Brando and Guy Trosper.

Is there such a thing as the inverse of this thread, like people you fully expected to appear in a photo together at some point but never have? I was thinking about Elton John and David Bowie recently and figured that since both were musicians from the same country active over a very long period of time there should obviously be photos of them together, but apparently they hate each other and there is only one that I've seen.

Found this, which looks like the crowd at Wimbledon. Can't even work out if it's real or not (or if that's Elton or Sylvester McCoy).https://40.media.tumblr.com/e22d12d96328142d5ccc5857bbf09bd3/tumblr_nch3t0b6HT1sixwgco1_500.jpg

Yeah that's the one picture that seems to exist; and that link and a couple others made it sound like Bowie thought Elton was ripping him off and talked shit about him. I had never realized this.
― joygoat, Monday, 5 January 2015 09:13 (nine years ago) link
It hadn't occurred to me either. That Wimbledon pic looks like the organisers have them on a careful seating plan tbh.

people you fully expected to appear in a photo together at some point but never have?
I would totally expect to see a photo of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen together but I can't find one. Same goes for Lou Reed with Jim Morrison (who apparently met at early Velvets shows in LA).

Looking at that pic closely it's clear that it was actually taken at Live Aid. You can see the logo on the laminate that the guy in the middle is wearing (who is he?). And is that Bryan Adams in the left foreground?
― you've got no fans you've got no ground (anagram), Monday, 5 January 2015 10:43 (nine years ago) link
The fellow in the middle looks a bit like John Reid, Elton's manager. But probably isn't.
Is there something strange about the way Princess Diana looks in that shot? Something odd about the focus or the light? It looks like a cut and paste job but I can't work out why.
