watch some of the better ones from season 1 (i like ep5 with the sketchy DJs, and ep9 with the real estate agent) before you make a decision -- i find virtually every sitcom can't really be judged on the first 1-2 episodes

abbi and ilana are legit funny and actually likable which makes it into an entirely different thing than girls imo

it's more like workaholics only less doofy and not suburban and with women

cant compare the two - girls is a dramedy. broad city is a zippy zingy (albeit quirky) 20 min sitcom

I loved the first season of Girls and just started watching Season 4 now without having seen S2 and 3. It dropped off a bit, I take it?

I feel that I'd last longer talking to the characters Abby and Ilana play than the Workaholics characters, though. They're constantly over the top, the women seem relatable if ridiculous

I positively loathe the three lead characters on Workaholics. Maybe irl they're decent likable fellas, but I don't even want to find out.

Workaholics has a lot of funny stuff on it, and the comparison to Broad City is apt in some ways. The latter is probably a better show overall.

Broad City is DEFINITELY a better show. Workaholics was ok until the last season, which was garbage, but once better shows started coming on CC (BC, Review, Kroll Show, etc etc) I stopped watching Workaholics.

Only episodes of The League I've seen are the two centered on Jason Mantzoukas' character, which seem like a better concept for a show than the one the show is centered around.

We like the League fine, but wow, is it pretty much the laziest comedy on TV. Basically, barely there plot setups, horrible LA as Chicago, mostly them insulting each other, and when in doubt, Raffi. Who, to be fair, is a) a perfect OTT character and b) probably could not support his own show, thank goodness, which would quickly become a more extreme version of Workaholics. Which I liked for a few seasons and then, poof, no more interest My wife couldn't take Review, but I want to give it more time. Kroll Show, I started it but didn't get into it, but I hear it gets better. Broad City is ace, Amy Schumer hit or miss with glorious hits, Key & Peele still mostly great, Nathan For You short but sweet. Golden Age of Comedy Central stuff.

Amy Schumer is horribly racist fuck her forever. Review is incredible. But BC is best

I've just gotten into Kroll Show recently since it's ending this year. It's up there with Key and Peele for excellence in editing/production values. (Also it is frequently hilarious.)

Living in a particularly US state (and not traveling to any others all year) has honestly made me forget that this is a thing that people have to think about. Like "why don't you just go to the weed store?".

Anyway I heard vague things about this show last spring, don't have cable, recently got a Roku after having a baby and noticed this was on Amazon during one of my late night baby-feeding / TV watching stints. I totally love it, much more than any other show I've discovered lately mostly due to the dirtbagginess of Abby and Ilana that reminds me of people I know much more than any other "young single people living in New York" TV characters that I find really unrelatable.

I watched 3 seasons of Key & Peele and think it's generally pretty great but a bit inconsistent so who knows.

And I keep hearing about Workaholics but something about seeing this guy enrages me so much that I just can't bring myself to ever consider watching it

The League isn't a great show that I'd rep for, but it's def better than one would expect at times. It was my favorite sitcom to hate that I'd never seen for a while. The Raff guyi and Kroll carry the show for the most part.

As mentioned I was watching this recently with my parents and there were a handful of dirtbag situations that Abby and Ilana found themselves where I almost said, "Ha! That's happened to me!" but then remembered I was watching this with my parents and kept quiet.

iTunes. I could easily get it freely from any number of sources but I want to support these chicas.

I want to watch the first season all over again. I keep thinking about it and laughing. I was just thinking about when Ilana was stealing the lotion from the gym in a bag and blurted out, "It's khiels!". That would have been me. At my old job, the tampon machines were always unlocked and stocked with tampax pretty much daily. I used to go to different floors with my reusable grocery bags and stock up. I didn't buy my own for the entire 3+ years that I worked there.

Since ppl are takling comedy central, has anyone watched @midnight? It's pretty good!

@midnight is great though it varies depending on guests...the one last week(i don't watch them all just now and again) with Maron, John Hodgman and Jen Kirkman was really funny. I didn't expect Maron would be good on that show but they all killed it.

And, yeah, it was really good but JH needs to stop whatever he's doing with his facial hair. It's NAGL.

re: The League, I remember S2 being legitimately great, with diminishing returns after that.

even though there are people I like in the League I can't get past watching a show about fantasy football or whatever, something I find even more bafflingly ridiculous than actual football

tho workaholics is funny for about 5 minutes and quickly wears out its welcome, and kroll show is pretty dire all around imo
