It's at least moderately justifiable in that reading is done in solitary whereas kayaking is something a prospective mate might want to do with his sex partner, or something. I dunno. Maybe people actually read the same book together side-by-side. I'm not familiar with everyone's disgusting habits.

i dunno, i just don't see anything new or particularly distressing about gay men being highly engaged in physical culture. it doesn't automatically make them idiots, in my experience.

clouds is all good with me in terms of the need for political analysis and change. but the thing is this is a personal group of people, and comments are personal even if they're larger. so when someone says something like my awesome boss is taking me kayaking and the response is something along the lines who gives a fuck about people who kayak it is a little weird, IMO. but i could really care less either way. i'm going to have a good time kayaking even if i fall over the boat.

I finished reading the definitive 450-page Peter Lorre bio last week... it took me six months.

i read a fair amount but that largely comes at the expense of any kind of physical activity, so

i just finished maggie nelson's new book 'the argonauts' which is a sort of memoir/long essay that talks about queerness and family and childbirth and which i very much recommend

my current reading is on the psychoanalysis of children who have narcissistic parents, which is excruciatingly relevant to my life tbh

oh and "seeing through clothes" by anne hollander, which has lengthy passages on stuff like pubes & butts throughout art history.
