Fiorina
Kasich
Pataki
Paul
Perry
Rubio
Walker

Santorum, Jindal and Gilmore the final ones I removed. I just have to assume Ricky Bobby will bow out before Thanksgiving, and Gilmore? I guess every season needs its Mike Gravel, but I dunno.

pplains, Wednesday, 27 May 2015 14:27 (nine years ago) link

I can't even begin to rank 'em. Also can't believe Santorum's taking another shot (spurt?) at it. What a putz.

If Pataki runs, I will miss Letterman's Jerry Lewis-styled pronunciation of his name

have the top ten debate then the other eight are the moderators

lag∞n, Wednesday, 27 May 2015 14:44 (nine years ago) link

i'm gonna guess

Bush
Carson
Christietaking a longshot bet that maybe he'll just be in prison by the time the debates start?
Cruz
Ehrlich
Fiorina
Gilmore
Graham why is he running for president again? doesn't everyone hate him?
Huckabee
Jindal i can't believe that anyone could take this man seriously anymore, although that same criticism could be applied to many others on the list
Kasich
Pataki
Paul
Perry
Rubio
Santorum
Trump although it would be hilarious
Walker

don't really know much about kasich or his chances tbh

republicans are hilarious. I can't even think of an electable republican at this point.

Think harder. Reagan and both Bushes were "hilarious" too.

They need to have semifinals, like Eurovision.

tag teams are the only solution obviously

Vote off one per week, like American Idol. Who will get the judges' save?

I could've sworn this was his third (or fourth even!)

hmm, guess not. weird.

Wiki: Before the 2006 election, Santorum was frequently mentioned as a possible 2008 presidential candidate.

I do recall seeing him on Sunday talk shows back then.

Graham why is he running for president again? doesn't everyone hate him?

maybe he wants to be outed in spectacular fashion

actually the GOP knows what it's doing. It's the Reasonable Option. "What's wrong with an ultrasound? It's painless!"

I mean it's pretty much beside the point now given that the law is getting pretty settled, but it's emblematic of her lack of principles (and foresight)

tbh i feel like anyone who can support HRC after her unapologetic vote for the iraq war can probably find it in their hearts to justify anything she does

idk; is there any poll data to back up the claim that non-white voters are uninterested in sanders?

example (crüt), Wednesday, 27 May 2015 23:15 (nine years ago) link

is it even that interesting? Sanders has always presented himself as old-school American democratic socialist. Viewing class issues as the prime mover is kind of necessary for that ideology and it's not like the piece can even point to him being hostile to "cultural issues" or backwards on race or something, it's just that he views them through the lens of Marxist analysis.

"In liberal circles, it now seems impossible to have cared deeply about human rights, to have cared about gay rights, and to have objected to gay marriage, even though that was the exact position of almost all liberals very recently."

I call bullshit. About 25% of Americans self-describe as liberal and 40% of Americans supported gay marriage a decade ago. Not enough libertarians to make this add up.
