there's Pat Carver of Rexburg, Idaho, recently elected to the city council. she hasn't started her term yet but people say that she appears to have her heart in the right place, she's a good listener, has a few interesting ideas regarding municipal infrastructure that she would like to bring up early in her -- oh wait, this just in she's been served charges for embezzlement and aggravated assault. so yeah they're all slime

The headline on bloomberg right now is "Walker: I like Marco Rubio a lot"
Then they showed a clip of walker saying that, and he speculated about the possibility of a walker/Rubio ticket, saying they'd have to arm wrestle to determine who would be on the top of the ticket.
So there you go, it's settled on the GOP side.

The Koch brothers signaled furiously that Walker is their preferred guy, but they aren't loading him up with cash this early. Too much chance of Walker failing and their possibly alienating the affections of whoever succeeds.

He beat two weak opponents and won a recall election in a context where many people felt a recall was inappropriate. His current polling here (OK, as of 2 months ago but it's the latest I've got) is 41% approve, 56% disapprove, and he gets crushed head-to-head against HRC (again, I agree, too early to really ask this, but those are the numbers we have.) I don't think anybody here thinks he would still be governor if Feingold had been willing to run, but Feingold doesn't want to be governor, he wants to be a Senator again, which he will be in two years' time.

Mr. Obama has rarely employed the kind of face-to-face lobbying and arm-twisting of lawmakers that previous presidents have found to be effective. But the fight for authority to negotiate new trade deals has been different, with Mr. Obama repeatedly urging lawmakers in both parties to support him.
lol imagine if he had this much get-up-and-go during the rest of his administration

lol these clowns:
Walker credits Act 10 in part for the decline in Wisconsin’s unemployment rate since he took office in 2011 and has said he considers right-to-work “one more arrow in that quiver” for the creation of jobs. But since 2011, the state has fallen to 40th out of the 50 states in job growth and 42nd in wage growth, according to an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data conducted by The Capital Times of Wisconsin. Act 10, officially called the Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill, was supposed to fix persistent budget shortfalls by lowering labor costs and eliminating union rules. But Wisconsin’s two-year projected budget deficit has actually increased; in May, the Legislature approved a $250 million cut to the state’s prized university system to help close the gap. Wisconsin is now among the top 10 states people move out of.
