I've done the one actual task that there was to do, and even that was more personal than work-related. Everything else I could have done that WAS work-related I did...yesterday. 2 1/2 hours to go.

btw when i got to the famous barber mill, my guy's station was cleaned out; photos of Italy on the mirror, gone (he's likely in his 70s). I didn't have the heart to ask if he retired or what, so i left w/out a haircut.

we had pre-Thanksgiving potluck brunch so now i'm in my office nodding off.

might as well not even be here, shit all is getting done by me.

My routine in recent years has been to spend Thanksgiving with my gf's family and then Xmas with my own. My recently-brainwashed aunt (by marriage) brought her Trumpite new husband to the turkey day festivities last year (hosted by my cousin) and apparently has decided, counter to everyone else's preference, that an annual spectacle of instability is the best way to celebrate the holiday. So I'm only vicariously experiencing the doldrums of my otherwise sane family members.

Why are actual people here this morning, I ask you.

this is the fakest work week

Judging by last year's post and my experience over the last several days, it's a fake week for everybody else who's been whipping all their shit into my inbox just before their mad rush out of town. At least very little new has come through today and I'm just burning off that prior glut.

Luckily I am NOT at work today, because today are my 50th birthday. So, pluses and minuses, I guess.

Nothing's worse than employers at a "gig" job who say "Oh, leave early!!" as the supervisor says "and I'll adjust your timesheet." (ie take money away from you)

Nicely lighter traffic on the 5 a.m. commute = bonus!
