I've done that thing where I've walked wall-side with a girl, and all of a sudden a car drove by and hit a puddle of water, and she became completely soaked, and all I could do was look at her and go 'oh yeah, that's a thing right? With the man and the street and all that...' We were drung. So I've learned my lesson. Or I should have, but I'm a slow learner, and I keep forgetting.
― Frederik B, Sunday, 10 January 2016 22:41 (eight years ago) link
Drunk.
Obv it is the man's obligation to be soaked by passing cars, never the woman's. This is because I forget why.

"Besides the fact that this person t0 do this would become the modern day H1tler causing hundreds of thousands of hom1cides, drug overdoses and greed with what certain people would do with the money. you know, you'd THINK we could totally solve poverty in the U.S. with just 1.3 billion dollars. but when you think about it really hard, everyone would just go crazy with all of the free money and kill each other, so it doesn't work.

ok, full speed ahead. now we just have to convince whoever wins powerball to kindly distribute 4 dollars to every person in the country

A thousandth of an inch is a derived unit of length in an inch-based system of units. Equal to 0.001 inches, it is normally referred to as a thou /ˈθaʊ/, a thousandth, or a mil.
doesn't seem that great a plan after all
― AdamVania (Adam Bruneau), Monday, 11 January 2016 19:24 (eight years ago) link
once upon a time, there was a monetary unit equal to a tenth of a penny, called a mil.
― a little too mature to be cute (Aimless), Monday, 11 January 2016 19:34 (eight years ago) link
all we need to really do now is wait for the powerball to reach one quadrillion and that plan is totally actionable. if nobody picks the right number, that should be doable by 3516.

Everyone in America rushing to buy their four dollars worth of breakfast before the inevitable breakfast inflation that would occur as a result of everyone in America having four dollars to spend on a finite amount of breakfast would lead to scenes of considerable panic and almost certainly widespread outbreaks of violence.
Once it becomes apparent that the unfastbroken police force is woefully inadequate in addressing the issues presented by the nationwide hordes ravenous, the national guard are called in. The national guard are queueing at Denny's. The army? The army have gotten a hot tip from their network of quartermasters that the only bacon that's gonna be left in what remains of the one nation that was under God until approximately 7:02 this morning is stockpiled in military mess pantries- they're locking that shit down and aren't coming out this side of armageddon.
8am central time and the domino effect has already ensured that the bunkers are filled with the best and the brightest and the final units of cinnamon crunch to be found on the continental US. rumours abound in the (now underground) corridors of power that Hawaii has stockpiles long set aside for just such an eventuality, but attempts to reach the navy are futile. They've en masse mutinied and are converging on Belfast, having placed the largest advance order of ulster fry in history.
The airforce don't really eat breakfast as a rule, but seem content to watch everything crash and burn, in a dont-give-a-fuck-we're-the-airforce kind of way.
But yeah. Yeah, comrade brownie. You go ahead, buy everyone a breakfast. It's a free country, right? RIGHT?

And as to these 'don't ever feel bad about other people' ones ... what seems to be going on there is a grasping for a solution to a bad situation between people, but which would inevitably just cause its own bad situation. In other words for every 'don't feel bad about making other people unhappy' there's inevitably another one saying 'some people don't feel bad about making you unhappy'
