I don't know what but OK, see you later.

i'm sure the secret police would've been much kinder under mossadegh

i can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or not but i've read a fair bit about mossadegh and am unfamiliar w/ any notable abuses of civil liberties that he was responsible for, certainly not on the level of the shah, but i assume you know much more than i do about general iranian history so am curious to hear more

who'd have thought a simple conversation about fascists and drug lords could get so negative

:(

Not saying the Shah didn't commit any atrocities, I'm just saying that the reason we usually see the US criticized for its role in the coup has more to do with our overall attitude toward middle east policy and self-determination than it does with that, which makes the Shah an odd fit on this list.

Kind of odd they'd leave MARCOS off the list and instead point to the JSOC as a "death squad".

Voted Pat Sajak.

Yeah ok so maybe they do have a point about the JSOC, but still...Marcos.

Agreed, just the right amount of clusterfuck, tucked into a tight running time. Excellent cameo by Neanderthal towards the end.

nine months pass...

Most exciting moment was before the trial got underway this morning. The lights briefly went out, it was pitch black inside the courtroom. When the lights came back on, somebody shouted, "He's gone!" Chapo hadn't moved. Everybody laughed, except maybe the US Marshals.
