Pittsburgh musician B.E. Taylor, best known for regional 1983 hit Vitamin L

I always thought maybe I imagined this song, since nobody else ever remembered it. The lyric, "If you could buy, I'm sure they'd sell Vitamin L" always drove me bonkers.

Fucking phenomenal use of passive voice by the cops there.

"West Mercia Police can confirm that officers responded to a report for the concern for the safety of an individual at approximately 1.30am this morning at an address in Telford," the force said in a statement.

"Upon arrival Taser was deployed and a 48-year-old man, who subsequently received medical attention, was pronounced dead at approximately 3am.

I mean, PV to the point where it's suggesting he received medical attention after he was pronounced dead.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 16 August 2016 20:20 (seven years ago) link

My parents made me watch The McLaughlin Group a lot. I always found him to be a bit of a humorless grump, tbh.

Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 16 August 2016 20:22 (seven years ago) link

for some reason the McLaughlin Group was regular sunday morning viewing over pancakes at our house growing up

8 Whisps (Myonga Vön Bontee), Wednesday, 17 August 2016 21:49 (seven years ago) link

patchy, well acted by Scott, Rigg; main problem is Paddy Chayefsky's typical reactionary-liberal hysteria

not many can boast playing with Reinhardt, Parker and doing the theme music to Sesame Street .. and of course Midnight Cowboy, which still sometimes makes me a bit weepy.
