i am subject to network whims, so only getting shotput etc in fragments

i never know which 7 channel i should be watching at any given time but i haven't seen it on any so far.

otm. tv situation is annoying af, just trying to surf the mediocre waves as they come which means watching events 5 hrs after every already talked about them

i seem to keep getting after the event interviews with athletes or boring beach volleyball, though to be fair the swimming coverage has been good.

Well I'll tell ya, it may have just been a quarterfinal, but the Brazil/Australia women's football match just now, goddamn THAT was a crazy tense down-to-the-wire ending, extra time, penalties, sudden death. Astounding one-hand save by Barbara at the death, the fans going absolutely apeshit. Glad I was watching; after the US fuckup, I'm all in for Brazil to own it the rest of the way.

TOTES barbara was amazing there. def relieved to see marta's shot getting blocked was not their untimely demise.

Right! And. The greatest pole vaulter ever isn't going to have as many medals. Even if they were a better pole vaulter than Phelps is a swimmer.

Of course. That's the way swimming (and to an extent sprinting, gymnastics) work. Anyway most garlanded or not there are very few athletes in their respective milieus who have been as good for as long as Phelps. Begrudging him success just seems weird to me.

I don't begrudge him his success, but I would like to see other outlets for people to be celebrated by norms for smoking hella weed
