i heard! i watched the match with a buddy of mine who actually follows tennis --- i had forgotten so much about the rules/basic gameplay, it was a little embarrassing. otoh, i now think i should probably watch tennis more often??

Mo farahs last lap was only 1 second slower than the last lap of that 800m heat I think

and if you have a finish like that, they really have to try and hurt you a lot earlier in the race

The field for the women's 100 was wall to wall stone-cold killers, any of them coild have won & it would have been awesome but Thompson made it look so damn easy. Love her.

Women's 100 was so good. Really liked that simple little feature nbc did on Tori Bowie yesterday. Grats to her on the silver. English Gardner looked way intense.

Phelps will be back for Tokyo no doubt. Take a couple/few years off then itch for it again then start getting all the sponsorship offers and he won't be able to deny it. Pick a few events get two more golds for a cool 25

First gold medal to Denmark! Pernille Blume wins gold in 50 m freestyle. She then went on to win bronze as part of the medley team.

So pleased for the Danish women's medley team - this is Jeanette Ottesen's 4th Olympics and she's finally got a medal. The team's been tipped for a while but Pernille was always the 'weak link'; this year she's totally stepped up. Awesome!

Yeah. People had been writing stories about how the whole generation of swimmers had underperformed because they weren't getting medals at neither this olympics nor London, and then, bam, two on the last day!

xxp they kept on referring to some Kenya plan to disrupt Farah during the NBC broadcast and I was like "was the plan to let him relax for 24 laps and then let him smoke you for the last two, because if so SUCCESS!"

Also English Gardner easily the angriest looking English Gardner ever. Seriously she should probably take up a relaxing hobby like gardening.

Great women's marathon final just now -- only could catch the end of it but Sumgong holding off Kirwa was a bravura performance, and US in sixth/seventh is pretty solid.

Russian synchronized swimming routine just now was pretty amazing

Annoying thing when you follow a bunch of Americans on Twitter, there was zero mention of who actually won the marathon, just that Americans finished top 10.
