I can forgive Gill most things for the description he gave of the 2008 Democratic Party National Convention: "so cloyingly sentimental it would give cynicism diabetes."

As low as that bar is P Hitchens seems far more likeable than most of those dead-eyed fascist nihilists at the Mail. It is a shame his politics suck so much because he is an extraordinarily good polemicist/debater.

The dog was put down shortly after the walk. After disturbed election sleep for most of that week, and this dog being a solid reminder of Kenny the Noble Beast, the whole thing turned me into a bawling wreck that day.

The majority of Thicke's career probably *was* hot garbage (the half-an-episode of Growing Pains I caught a few years back is proof that some things are best left back in childhood) but I had gotten to really enjoy him in recent years as an affable presence in his guest appearances on things like Bill Maher's TV show and Gilbert Gottfried's podcast.
Also, I loved his response to Kirk Cameron's homophobic ramblings: “I love Kirk but I may have to spank him…’tho not in a gay way!”
