The benefit of the doubt I extended to Trump was limited, but on a rather important subject: I thought that direct collusion between his inner circle and Russian officialdom during the 2016 campaign was relatively unlikely and the odds of ever finding proof of such a conspiracy vanishingly low.

But now that I've seen it I believe that the odds have increased!

The key thing to remember from the NYT stories is that it's three sources in the White House providing this info.

if 3 people in the campaign knew about this (presumably at least one of them not in the meeting, unless jr is one of the sources, which is possible i guess because he seems like he's got hundreds of chromosomes) then it beggars belief that trump himself did not know.

Well, they could just take the savings fromt the Medicaid cuts, and then roll them into their tax reform bill later this year? Same difference. But like, do they think that people will fall for that? this is obviously exactly what happened. which is why i'm not surprised mueller doesn't have it. i reckon this doesn't touch on the things he's investigating i.e. actual conflicts of interest, felix sater, billions owed on development projects, dnc hacking, etc.

I think it all depends on what "a Russian who was looking for someone with political influence" exactly means, though.

Yeah the significant part of this story is Donaldinho's eagerness to take oppo from the Russian sources and also his lack of surprise that there was a Russian governmdng effort to help his dad's campaign or however it was phrased.
