PARKS and RECREATION aka "Everything's coming up Amy"

It's already been renewed for a second season, but I think the current season ends next week (making it only 6 eps...kind of like how The Office began). Here's hoping Parks and Recreation's second season is anywhere as close to the same quality.

just listened to that fresh air interview this morning. poehler's kinda tedious. i liked the palin rap best.

Finale was quite funny, I thought. The band was truly wretched in the best way.

I need to see the whole thing. I only caught the last 15 mins on Thursday night.

I tried REALLY HARD to like this.

The final three eps were LIGHT YEARS better than the first three.

for me, poehler's not doing what she's good at. like to me she's awesome when she's all bratty and sassy smart girl, like when she did the news...or doing like that "whut whut" shit like in baby mama or blades of glory....

i just think she seems to sharp to buy her as this faux naif female michael scott character....

I think for her to work well in episodic tv, though, her character needs a pretty flat baseline. Her bratty/sassy persona would grate pretty quickly if put out there every week. But this way, she has plenty of room to throw stuff around and see what sticks.

Still optimistic for a good second season.

This last ep definitely gave me more optimism for the show than the previous ones I'd seen (I skipped the last couple of weeks). I'll probably be back for next season.

Go watch "The Banquet" on hulu. I think it was the funniest of the six.

I started singing PJDU at the same time she did, which I found both hilarious & upsetting.

I can't tell if the writing got better over the summer or if I'm just more familiar with the characters now. Some of both, probably.

I think a bit of both - definitely feels like the show is much more at ease with itself.

I'm seeing a nightmare scenario w/P&R getting replaced by "SNL Thursdays" once 30 Rock comes back.

The first two weeks of the season, P&R has been my favorite out of NBC's Thu night run. Makes sense it's on the block I guess... shit I think is funny usually gets canceled. What else would they put in its place, though? Another crapfest like Kath & Kim?

I would/will watch Amy Poehler in basically anything and sometimes I find P&R amusing, but it's sooo *slight* - sorta on purpose, I guess. It's just impossible to imagine this show getting the type of fanbase that it would take to stay on air. even if it were really funny!

The second episode this season was the best episode of this show so far.

It would benefit by being sandwiched between The Office and 30 Rock, but that would require them moving The Office to 8 and 30 Rock to 9... which actually would be a pretty great idea, leaving Community at 9:30. Of course, NBC won't move The Office out of the 9pm slot.

it's been hit or miss till this weeks but this was the best one yet. Aziz keeps stealing it though with his shirts. The gay one last week and the monogrammed one this week.

As someone pointed out on the Community thread, how did Chris Pratt become one of the best things on the show? Definitely agree that the show's getting better week to week, and Louis C.K. seems like a good addition.
