My immediate and unswayable vote is for one hole, because a straw is topologically equivalent to a torus

Two--one at either end...I know that's the dumb knee-jerk answer--what am I missing here?

I should add that that Houses of the Holy poll last week went right over my head too, but I didn't want to ask anyone to explain the joke to me.

A straw has two ends. It has but one hole, which runs from end to end. A bit of thought reveals that the human body has a similar configuration, so that one may view as logically indistinguishable what are termed one's "mouth" and "asshole".
