Why? I don't necessarily think domestic fixtures should be jiggered around so one team can play in lucrative mid-season matches that are basically meaningless friendlies, like the world club cup and the champions lea

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 17 December 2019 20:39 (four years ago) link

i'm just pleased that there's another team this aston villa has put four past (ignoring that norwich already managed this too)

imago, Tuesday, 17 December 2019 20:40 (four years ago) link

now mix teams

imago, Tuesday, 17 December 2019 20:41 (four years ago) link

Norwich almost conceded a Wesley hat trick, a different order of magnitude in the Shit You Don't Come Back From stakes imo

I hear thee but they didn't sign up for this tbf, it comes with winning the CL. Rather it should be the other way around: they should've fielded the scouse babies in the desert, not at home imo.

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 17 December 2019 21:18 (four years ago) link

think the sponsors would probably have something to say about that

This is going to be a good quiz question later "who beat Liverpool 5-0 in the middle of their PL-winning season?"

I agree but I imagine the club would get a serious financial rap on the knuckles from Fifa for fielding a team of youngsters for the mickey mouse shite in the desert

The World According To.... (Michael B), Wednesday, 18 December 2019 01:04 (four years ago) link

Rumors you love too see: Zlatan to Everton.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 18 December 2019 09:01 (four years ago) link

Funnily enough, last night was the 43rd anniversary of Villa 5-1 L'pool (5-1 at h/t) in the league. L'pool went on to be champs that season too.

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 18 December 2019 12:33 (four years ago) link

Silliness of the competition aside, I’m looking forward to seeing how Funes Mori gets on against a good defence. He looks like the kind of player who might do ok in the Premier League.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Wednesday, 18 December 2019 16:38 (four years ago) link

Was confused for a second there, but it turns out it was his twin at Everton until last year.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 18 December 2019 16:42 (four years ago) link

yeah, Funes Memorious

saw the highlights of the flamengo game, was surprised to see giovinco and bafetimbi gomis playing for the saudis. flamengo managed by fm10 legendary manager jorge jesus, oh the battles i've had with that man..

would love lfc to finally win this but even if they get to the final think flamengo will be too much for them especially as flamengo have an aussie rules player on the right wing for them.

oscar bravo, Wednesday, 18 December 2019 17:36 (four years ago) link

just want it on record that I think minamino will prove an excellent signing. v pleased with that

This has strong pre-season friendly vibes.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Saturday, 21 December 2019 13:09 (four years ago) link

Less quality on show than Boro vs Stoke last night.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Saturday, 21 December 2019 13:17 (four years ago) link

Genuinely the worst match I’ve seen this year. They should both be docked points.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Saturday, 21 December 2019 14:17 (four years ago) link

I wonder which incoming manager is more depressed right now

Wtf Wolves

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 15:23 (four years ago) link

Such a weird lack of fluidity compared to recent weeks

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 15:40 (four years ago) link

I assume they've got my hangover but my head hurts too much to watch

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 15:43 (four years ago) link

Poor defending, Moutinho not himself.

Traore trying to do way too much despite being triple teamed

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 15:46 (four years ago) link

Yeeeeesssssssss

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:17 (four years ago) link

Jesus Jimenez. Force a turnover in your opponent's box, have a numbers advantage, lazily chip a rainbow over the crossbar.

Neither him or Traore are making wise decisions in the box. Now I see why you want a poacher so bad

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:27 (four years ago) link

Oooh Neves so close

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:32 (four years ago) link

Lol 3 minute ref comm system breakdown, great soccer folks

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:35 (four years ago) link

GOALLLLLLLLLLLL

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:37 (four years ago) link

Neto was fantastic!

Jimenez there to put back the rebound

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:38 (four years ago) link

Victory! They looked better in defeat last week but I'll take it.

Back to 6th, at least for 24 hours

Bublé in the changer, I wish I was dead (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 December 2019 16:56 (four years ago) link

omfg almiron finally

chet san telmo (alomar lines), Saturday, 21 December 2019 17:00 (four years ago) link

Yay Miggy!

Good now hopefully he'll never rejoin ATL United (MLS)

Raul you beaut, wd've been unhappy if we didn't get something FROM Norwich tbh

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 17:05 (four years ago) link

Cheering for Spurs tomorrow then

He's injured for the moment but I hope a scroll through his Twitter page will help to demonstrate why Allan Saint-Maximin is my favourite current EPL player

Vardy is killing these fools

This nothing competition is a passable meaningless exhibition gamr

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 18:53 (four years ago) link

so that wasn't a pen, but Sterling's blatant dive was

hmmm

Number None, Saturday, 21 December 2019 18:54 (four years ago) link

sterling was fouled then dived, shouldve been pen and yellow

gk hit on barnes(?) has to be a pen imo

Banáná hÉireann (darraghmac), Saturday, 21 December 2019 23:09 (four years ago) link

Dean Smith surely unemployed before 2020

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 23:10 (four years ago) link

is grealish good btw?

Banáná hÉireann (darraghmac), Saturday, 21 December 2019 23:10 (four years ago) link

Needs a better manager imo but Prem class no question

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 23:10 (four years ago) link

Love to see Traore playing with his head up

a very powerful woman in the dog world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 December 2019 23:12 (four years ago) link

De Gea trying to top some of last season's errors. Starting to rival West Ham's back up goalie. Utd such a weird team. The 3 signings in the Summer were all good IMO, and have done p well while improving the team not a jot. The manager brings nothing to this group really.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 22 December 2019 16:03 (four years ago) link

I mean long may it continue tbh but it's a headscratcher.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 22 December 2019 16:04 (four years ago) link

only saw a bit of the second half, but they looked pretty dire again today - playing too slowly, trying to pass through a defence that wasn't really being stretched out of shape at all, absolutely everything going down the lefthand side, endless iterations of the same unsuccessful attack

the woefullest shirker (NickB), Sunday, 22 December 2019 16:18 (four years ago) link

Maguire hasn't been good really. AWB is a tremendous defender (although he had to get one of those slide tackles wrong eventually) but even worse in the attacking third than I suspected. I love James but he wasn't in the game today

nothing surprising about the result or performance. This is Ole's level

at least Pogba looked good. There's now no justification for starting Lingard ever again

Number None, Sunday, 22 December 2019 16:26 (four years ago) link

Slack, unprofessional defending costs Spurs again.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Sunday, 22 December 2019 16:43 (four years ago) link

so much standing around
