there has been much lip service from Sir Kier on Labour AS but he clearly doesn't give a fuck about racism in the party if he thinks burying this report is the best option.

Can Corbyn or someone sue these people or something? Make them stand up in court and admit what they were doing?

We knew it was bad, but fucking hell.
Senior Labour officials laughing at the "truly repulsive" Diane Abbott for crying in a toilet, mocking Dawn Butler for daring to mention racism in Labour, and saying Iain Duncan Smith was "better than most of our shadow cabinet". These people ran Labour until very recently. pic.twitter.com/DKELoIN47s— Marcus Barnett (@marcusbarnett_) April 12, 2020

and now having made my way through the rest of the thread - i was wondering on whether this stuff was actionable as well, Tom. doesn’t feel in character for corbyn but the things people are identifying on this thread alone are utterly disgusting.

Patrick Henegan who is implicated in that report mocking Diane Abbott (and I’m sure much more) was the chief executive of the People’s Vote campaign, and asked to leave after harassing female employees. Yet more evidence that the People’s Vote was a wrecking campaign 2.0— Jase (@jasebyjason) April 12, 2020

I had thought this of Labour for a long time - one of the articles where a councillor had been expelled for calling a Jewish Labour member “Shylock” mentioned in passing that the guy who’d been expelled had been pulled up for referring to “P**is” and using other racial slurs previously. Including to constituents! Why wasn’t he expelled before then?! Well I guess now we know why.

Even the most uncontroversial criticism of the government is whipped up in an attempt to generate hysteria but apparently political point scoring in a crisis is fine when the CCHQ social media team do it.

xps it’s more to do with the fact that calz hates him & doesn’t need a reason to say this! He’s appointed some dodgy people to his shadow cabinet and hasn’t had much interesting to say on the pandemic, when Labour should be dragging the government for the hideous death figures and its failure to protect NHS staff and other key workers.

I’ve genuinely just had a telephone call from Ian Austin who is threatening to take legal action against me because I referred to him as a “sheep botherer.”— Jon Argles (@JonArgles) April 12, 2020

My defence would be in light of Austin's character any accusation of bothering sheep couldn't possibly diminish him further in the public's opinion

gyac has covered the current situation well but i'll add that calz hates him more for what he isn't than what he is tbh. he isn't a lot of things. what he is exactly (beyond a capable prosecutor) is something of a political mystery, meaning that he could be all things to all people, which in practice has greatly emboldened the centre & right of the labour party
