Nobody is saying Boris was faking it, just that he maybe didn't require hospitalization and that the news was heavily managed to elicit sympathy and support.
― Wuhan!! Got You All in Check (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Monday, 13 April 2020 14:43 (four years ago) link
like under normal circumstances he would absolutely require hospitalization, but not right now
Christ. I heard fucking Nicholas Soames saying earlier that being so close to death will have profoundly changed Boris. Oh stfu you silly old cunt!
― calzino, Monday, 13 April 2020 14:47 (four years ago) link
for some certain behaviour seems to be malingering, others think faking it, others merely milking it.THink there are a lot of people suffering heavily because of his negligence and lack of being the right person at the right time for everybody else in the country. Just think that on both sides of the Atlantic there is a figurehead who would by default show that the system was a bit broken . Innit.

kindof amazing how little interest the guardian has shown in the labour leak. there is one article about it on the website. they are as we know very capable of publishing unreadably large bulk of material on one single topic. during the peak of the anti-semitism stories, they were publishing several many about it every day over a period of weeks. often with very little in the way of new material. seems odd that, given the editorial interest in this topic, that such a large amount of new information would prompt so little coverage. possibly i'm being unfair and they are simply caught offguard as the leak went to sky news, maybe there's panama papers style coverage of this and they already have several journalists pulling different stories out of it to cover. it would be odd as they do not really have a reputation for cautious reporting on national politics but its possible. i won't hold my breath though.

Finally, Keir and Angela release a joint statement :-/
Joint statement: “We have seen a copy of an apparently internal report about the work of the Labour Party’s Governance and Legal Unit in relation to antisemitism. The content and the release of the report into the public domain raise a number of matters of serious concern.— Sienna Rodgers (@siennamarla) April 13, 2020

We are very concerned about the reports of the theft of the crown jewels being stolen, and will urgently hold an investigation into1. Why the report was made and who made it2. The details of what "stolen" means, if anything3. Who leaked the report and what action can be taken to stop them embarrassing us again

lol they’re going to be left with no fucking members, seriously fucked it Lot of people saying this is a GDPR breach, but isn’t something like this, especially over something like party members allegedly trying to throw an election, a matter of public interest? Agree that names of complainants should have been redacted.
― gyac, Monday, 13 April 2020 16:07 (four years ago) link
I think part of the reason this is slipping under the radar is that it's all very dense: lots of characters who aren't household names and difficult to follow who has done what exactly, especially when there's censored names etc.

interesting disparity between mixed messaging from the UK govt and polling in tory right wing rags that suggests people are much happier to lock down than some of their messaging suggests and don't want risk more death for the fucking economy.
