hey, pleasant plains. do you know john kushmaul (sp?)? he was a courtroom sketch artist for a time here for the local tv station he used to work for. forget which one.

How can one get a job doing courtroom sketches? I wld be very good at it.

I know John well. He was a sketch artist for the Susan McDougal trial. I tried to find one of his, but none of them are online. He was on CNN and everything! There was another trial he sketched for, though I can't remember what it would have been. Something federal here in town.

Abbot, our friend just grabbed a seat in the gallery, drew his sketch and sold it to the networks. He had to show up pretty early, and I don't know what kind of arrangements he went through to get all of his art stuff in there.

Huh! Maybe I could just do it for fun.

I'm pretty sure that was one of the victims who spoke -- she was all "EXCUSE me Judge Chin, I WAS NEXT. It's MY TURN TO SPEAK."

You're way too good for this, Abbott. But maybe it could be a way to get noticed?

It's one arena where I wldn't have to feel I was competing with giants whose quality I cld never achieve.

I also only just learned that these people don't actually work for the court. Outside the court today there was a sketch on a stand right in front of the door and a camera crew all around it -- I guess they didn't want to wait until they got the drawing back to the studio or something. It was very surreal looking though.

Does anyone understand the perspective in this one? Is the bald officer sitting to the right of the Dutch terrorist or behind him?

The trial is being heard by Chief U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno, who reacted with surprise when Hilton gave him a little wave before testifying. "I've never had a witness wave at me before," the judge cracked.

In another exchange, Moreno was puzzled by the title of Hilton's current reality show, "My New BFF."

"It was really good," Hilton answered with a giggle. Along with the heels, Hilton wore an all-black sleeveless dress tied at the back and sported diamond rings and a bracelet.
