can't we replace you with Big Trak, Kier?

Dan Hancox, who is Jewish and writes about him a lot, was not on social media to see or react to the Wiley bullshit but I was heartened by the number of black lefties calling him a crackhead hotep arsehole, because that’s who he seems to be now.

santa clause four (suzy), Saturday, 25 July 2020 05:14 (three years ago) link

Just feel sad about it

plax (ico), Saturday, 25 July 2020 07:20 (three years ago) link

I'm not familiar enough with Wiley to be able to tell, but is this a total surprise? It seems unlikely for someone to go from 0-100 with no previous indicators

anvil, Saturday, 25 July 2020 08:30 (three years ago) link

He usually bubble

Mark G, Saturday, 25 July 2020 08:32 (three years ago) link

I think he has history of going for big twitter numbers by flaming with Stormzy but the AS stuff is new I think

calzino, Saturday, 25 July 2020 08:39 (three years ago) link

people have found a minor example from 2010, so looks like he's just been keeping it to himself before yesterday.

Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Saturday, 25 July 2020 08:42 (three years ago) link

It seems weird that an outspoken personality (with penachant for stirring things up?) is able to keep something like this under wraps for a long time with no outwards signs whatsoever?

anvil, Saturday, 25 July 2020 08:43 (three years ago) link

I would assume either he's had a full on breakdown, he's doing it for the notoriety/attention or he's really trying to piss off his manager, who's also Jewish. But also, if it quacks like a duck for hours on end...

Also no one, let alone an account with half a million followers, should be able to go on a ten hour antisemitic rant without Twitter lifting a finger to stop it.

Matt DC, Saturday, 25 July 2020 09:16 (three years ago) link

Labour are angling to get RT taken off air.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53510838

I’d guess the main reason it hasn’t is that getting rid of a channel with, iirc, an average audience of 1300 isn’t worth the inevitable tit-for-tat expulsion of the BBC Russia service but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Interestingly, the government is supposedly mulling over a requirement similar to the US for lobbyists on behalf of foreign interests to register. I can’t see it happening tbh, as I can’t imagine anyone actually wants to lift that rock, but it would be delightful for a certain former Prime Minister to have to come clean about who pays him.

I can't believe a station with Galloway + Salmond has lower viewing figures than Fishing TV

― Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 24 July 2020 22:59 (yesterday) link

Was Wiley ever in grime4corbyn? :)

xyzzzz__, Saturday, 25 July 2020 10:35 (three years ago) link

I'm guessing Fishing TV has an incredibly loyal fanbase who will watch it for hours on end and they've got the advertising market absolutely nailed.

The only thing I've ever seen from Russia Today is that clip where Simon Danczuk tries to ignore a belly dancer for several minutes.

Going from 0-100 is kind of what he does btw. There was some anti-mask virus truther stuff in there among all the AS as well.

Matt DC, Saturday, 25 July 2020 11:07 (three years ago) link

This seems to be connected to some dispute with his manager, who is Jewish I believe.

Sonny Shamrock (Tom D.), Saturday, 25 July 2020 11:22 (three years ago) link

his manager probably told him to wear a mask

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Saturday, 25 July 2020 11:27 (three years ago) link

And look at all the publicity Kanye is getting for howling at the moon.

Sonny Shamrock (Tom D.), Saturday, 25 July 2020 11:30 (three years ago) link

The most prominent Grime4Corbyn voices were people like AJ Tracey and Novelist, a generation below Wiley and more politically engaged in general (Novelist was Young Mayor of Lewisham). JME was involved in the drive to register to vote and met with Corbyn but seemed to back away from offering an explicit endorsement when the attention was on him.

The whole thing appeared to have run out of steam by 2019 by which some of them had switched allegiance to the Greens IIRC.

Matt DC, Saturday, 25 July 2020 12:07 (three years ago) link

Don't remember Wiley specifically being involved beyond one "big up Jeremy Corbyn" tweet but even the most shambling and amateurish of campaign managers wouldn't have wanted him anywhere near.

Matt DC, Saturday, 25 July 2020 12:09 (three years ago) link

Years back he tweeted racist anti-Asian stuff briefly and dismissed it as "ethnic banter" in an interview on iirc Bobbi Friction's radio show. Plus there is the stuff Dizzee openly alleged about him not too long ago.

because scoring points against former rivals/factional adversaries is just as important as the serious business of opposing and challenging antisemitism in the social media world of the so called tsar of antisemitism.

have pitchfork learned the difference between paigons and pagans yet? now might be a good time!

calzino, Saturday, 25 July 2020 17:33 (three years ago) link

Corbyn should not have deleted his 'Thank you' tweet. Not that issuing any public condemnation would make anyone change their mind either way either.

nashwan, Saturday, 25 July 2020 17:41 (three years ago) link

I was thinking about that, I can understand Corbyn not wanting to invite further dishonest bullshit but I wouldn't have deleted it
