I also think that SFO's empty terminal 2 is kinda spooky-ugly.

BUMP

I live in Berkeley now, and I have no friends. Where can I hang out to meet non-lame people?

remy bean, Sunday, 9 March 2008 22:48 (sixteen years ago) link

remy bean, Sunday, 9 March 2008 22:48 (sixteen years ago) link

remy, i live in berkeley too. jupiter has good beer and pizza, kinda has a grad school vibe to it. also, pegasus and moe's books are great bookstores. starry plough has some good shows. ive seen mushroom and dead meadow there.
peoples cafe on shattuck has good coffee, decent food. in berkeley i will go and have a beer at some of the bars but for going out/going to shows theres not much. pretty dud. oaktown is the way to go though for shows, hanging out and meeting people. here is a good place to start if you are interested in oakland noise/underground warehouse shows.

"Also have some tips about Buenos Aires... the first being GO THERE!"

This is my next international planned trip (for 2009, I think.)

Alex in SF, Monday, 10 March 2008 23:22 (sixteen years ago) link

LA is my next domestic trip, followed by Chicago, followed by Virginia is FOR LOVERS.

Alex in SF, Monday, 10 March 2008 23:23 (sixteen years ago) link

"Granted, nothing is as bad as LAX"

SFO does not have an In'N'Out within walking distance though.

Alex in SF, Monday, 10 March 2008 23:23 (sixteen years ago) link

Well shuttle plus a short walk anyway.

I wish all the Alexes in all the cities had some kind of superpsychological connexion. In my mind, every Alex in is a descendant of the one in NYC.

homosexual II, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:27 (sixteen years ago) link

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:46 (sixteen years ago) link

its the other people in the bathroom they don't like

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:47 (sixteen years ago) link

It's not that I dislike the look of Hotel Biron (incidentally the Hôtel de Biron in Paris is where the Rodin museum is housed) but their wine selection is nothing next to CAV, Sunset Magazine's 2007 wine bar of the year.

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:50 (sixteen years ago) link

HAHAHA

Alex in SF, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:51 (sixteen years ago) link

(Also, I know one of the owners and one of the bartenders and they always hook me up with really good stuff)

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:55 (sixteen years ago) link

Mandy, you missed an excellent opportunity to see wine snob power lesbians in their native environment.

Michael White, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:56 (sixteen years ago) link

and you haven't invited me with you because....????

Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:57 (sixteen years ago) link

Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 18 March 2008 16:57 (sixteen years ago) link
