That may sound facetious, but it was the best advice I could have gotten, delivered in the best way. I thought about it all day long while reading the US Politics thread and not posting to it. Very few of the thoughts in my head need to come out.

literally during busier days in past years I used to scroll this thread only cos I would just look at the Tweets to get a summary of what happened that day until I could get home and browse on my own longer.

even now I find it easier to cull recent developments in this thread than on the internet solo

I also use the politics thread for the same purpose, Neanderthal. I don't really use Twitter, and I don't really use Facebook, so other than my begrudging subscription to the Times and reading of more lefty websites, the ILX politics thread is it.

Facebook is great for politics if you want to learn only misinfo, urban myths and outdated info. so it's better you don't!

Fair enough, but I also it to keep track of certain musicans, mostly jazz, as well as some beloved ex-IlXors and certain other people one degree of separation from this borad who were never on it.

oh yea i use it for connecting w/ my friends. prior to yesterday, I hadn't posted anything political on it in over a month.

well ok "anything" is a stretch and part of that is cos I was banned

I use the Newsfeed Eradicator Chrome extension. I post music and weird philosophy stuff and poetry stuff, and that's it. I hardly ever engage in any commenting, etc.
