So glad Twitter deplatformed him just so people like Rupar can just smear his feces all over the platform anyway.

Ehh i think it’s fine when he says something completely insane and idiotic like this

it's also one thing he's said in five months of mostly being silent

tbh the owner saying the horse was a victim of "cancel culture" and then Trump calling the horse a "junky" is objectively hilarious, I'm sorry

Eh, Rupar is just the latest example though. It's not egregious, no, but there were a few of those Trump obsessed liberal dudes that tweet 400 times an hour that had been breathlessly repeating even those weird statements he issued from Mar-A-Lago.
I guess it's less Rupar's specific instance here than it is a fear that this is just the tip of the iceberg. It's not like Trump is going to stop saying stupid, insane shit and I could live perfectly fine without the, "hey you guys just gotta check out what he said now!" shit.

I was going to vociferously agree with jon and then I realized we were both making this stand on a thread called "Donald Trump: Classic Or Dud?" and realized that maybe there were some complicity factors on our parts that were helping to ruin our day

The CEO of my old company once arranged to pay for a lavish dinner for my wife and I while we were on vacation - at a place I didn't really want to eat. I found the whole thing showy and annoying (meal and experience of it being comped).
When I got back, our CFO told me I owed taxes on the dinner because it was compensation.

I think he understands - at some sub-ganglionic level - that the more prosecuted he is, the more persecuted he can paint himself. And that always plays well with the MAGAhats. "See? SEE? The corrupt swamp keeps coming after me because I pose a threat to them!"
Given that there will almost certainly never be consequences for his behavior (see Access Hollywood, Impeachment One, and Impeachment Two: Electoral Boogaloo), why should he behave any differently?
Investigations and lawsuits have always been in the offing and have never delivered, but they're great fodder for grift - the more investigations there are, the more fundraising appeals he can make to his followers. Plenty of Cletuses out there eager to sell a kidney so they can donate to the Trump Legal Defense Fund. Own the libs!

It's just a pet peeve of mine, I just think the lazy shorthand of Trump supporters as slack-jawed yokels does a disservice by removing focus from just how many of them are actually in positions of power and influence, which is all the more insidious. It also irks me with the lazy stereotyping implied that all rural people are morons.

Point taken. I am happy to go on record as despising all Trump supporters: rural, suburban, richer, poorer, smart, and less-smart.

There's a new book about the Secret Service - one allegation had it that Melania stayed in Trump Tower after his inauguration not just for Barron's sake, but to renegotiate the pre-nupt agreement; i.e., you want me to move to DC and play first lady, talk to my lawyer.
