idk, of the fairly established players, it's only Kane, Alli and Ndombele that are obviously playing within themselves regularly at the moment. I think Sanchez, Dier, Lucas and Bergwijn all put a shift in but they're limited players with low confidence getting their weaknesses exposed by a bigger collective failure.
It's hard to understand how Doherty goes from being a core part of a decent Wolves team to not being capable of performing at Europa Conference League standard or how Reguilon managed to transition from one of the best attacking fullbacks in Spain to someone averaging three or four potentially catastrophic errors per game over the course of half a season. You can clear out the dead wood but whoever gets brought in seems to catch the same virus.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Wednesday, 29 September 2021 11:36 (two years ago) link
The influencers of this team are the core virus
Alli, dier, winks can get away with any level of performance and be too valuable for levy to move on at any price, ndombele and aurier are not going to catch any "i better straighten myself out here" vibes as they join and observe the culture
Lloris is an abysmal captain
Kane as the king behind that throne divorced his own interest from that of the team as mourinho joined and is now obv many stages further still divorced

I'm watching Chelsea-Soto, a corner just floated over everyone and Chalobah was mooching around the back post, pretty much bent double to head it in. Commentary are calling it "straight off the training ground", definitely not, pure opportunism since it missed Lukaku's head etc but I'm really happy for this young kid, maybe now people will get his first name right. Probably not

perfect counter attack, Trincao with an exposed net, and clangs it off the top bar, similar to a few weeks ago

and Newcastle equalizes as Sa lies prone on the ground in the box after an ill-advised dive for the ball and can't get back in time to stop the long distance shot.

really crushing momentum sucking sequence

Lage gets a yellow, and a fan throws a single water bottle onto the pitch at Molineux
they all believe should have been a foul called against Sa and goal shouldnt have stood.
I don't agree. think SA just made a stupid move there and got hurt on a 50/50.
― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Saturday, 2 October 2021 14:45 (two years ago) link
Werner actually puts away the sort of shit he constantly doesn't, lengthy VAR check decides Azpilicueta fouled someone some years earlier, poor Timo just can't catch a break...
― One-Eyed and Incredibly Mearns (Jonathan Hellion Mumble), Saturday, 2 October 2021 14:48 (two years ago) link
Wolves still the better side, and goal only really scored because goalie lying on the ground and barely recovered in time as the shot was coming in. (granted, it was his fault, but)
Wolves can easily win this. I think Traore can run circles around them.

The only Newcastle Utd fan I know personally is this grizzled 70s far left streetfighting kinda dude, I wonder what he's making of this. Also all those Orthodox Jewish NUFC fans I used to see watching games in the Yucatan pub on Kingsland Road (without telling their wives where they were, I assume).
