I hope all you hataz are watching tonight, as the show is all about Bad Chappelle Bits!

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 1 April 2004 02:55 (twenty years ago) link

Beating up Hitler is always Comedy Gold.

as is "ASS MILK"

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 1 April 2004 02:58 (twenty years ago) link

DJ ASSAULT! "ASS N TITTIES"!

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Thursday, 1 April 2004 03:37 (twenty years ago) link

THAT WAS CLASSIC

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 1 April 2004 03:41 (twenty years ago) link

the puppet sketch was laaaaaaame, man

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 04:52 (twenty years ago) link

The gay Klan had promise.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 05:18 (twenty years ago) link

indeed it did.

Mr. Chappelle, can you please get rid of the musical guest slot? If it was an hour show, I would understand that you might have trouble coming up with enough material. But christ it's only like 10 minutes of actual comedy per episode. Get off your stoned ass and write some more sketches.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 05:24 (twenty years ago) link

I wouldn't mind them if the musical guests were consistently good (Snoop doing "Deep Cover," the Mos Def and Talib Kweli song from last season), but half the time the sound is bad and the performance is boring.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 05:26 (twenty years ago) link

if anybody wants an animated gif the gay lawnmower guy bumping it to "Ass n' Titties", email me at jdsalmon at mail dot com and i can hook you up.

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:27 (twenty years ago) link

Shooting the slaveowner straight out = joke killa. Should've made him dance a bit, and THEN shoot him "accidentally". When the hell did Sally Jesse Raphael turn into a crotchety grandma?

Also, I am in platonic man-love with the "I'm rich, beeeotch" / Ashy Larry guy.

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:10 (twenty years ago) link

The episode was 5 minutes of Dave setting up clips, 5 minutes of out-of-context clips (even with Dave saying, "this is going to be funny," they weren't), and then music. What a rip-off.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:13 (twenty years ago) link

two seasons in and we get a clip show.

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:14 (twenty years ago) link

Seriously.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:15 (twenty years ago) link

still, the show had plenty of bits that made me laugh, just not necessarily the best way to present them.

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:20 (twenty years ago) link

I think that Dave showing parts of sketches that he thought were funny and parts that didn't work was hilarious, every episode should be formatted like that. and the tape of Charlie Murphy starting to shake when they start shooting was classic.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 1 April 2004 16:16 (twenty years ago) link

Cocaine is a helluva drug (there, got it outta my system)

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Thursday, 1 April 2004 16:19 (twenty years ago) link

Bah, www.imrickjamesbitch.com seems to be down...

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 19:36 (twenty years ago) link

the guy who plays ashy larry is sweet.

THAT GUY'S THE BADDEST MUFFUKKA I EVER SEEN

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:01 (twenty years ago) link

i wish they had a cast list on the website. the credits speed by too fast.

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:02 (twenty years ago) link

and the tape of Charlie Murphy starting to shake when they start shooting was classic.

hahaha yeah. I noticed him shaking in the preceding clip, and was already laughing while Dave was describing it. Charlie Murphy is just classic.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:41 (twenty years ago) link

the puppet sketch was laaaaaaame, man

You're crazy. IV drug use by puppets is always classic.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 20:48 (twenty years ago) link

the puppet sketch had its moments but it was overlong and was a little too Crank Yankers for my taste.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:13 (twenty years ago) link

The Puppet Sketch was everything good and holy about the concept of Crank Yankers.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:15 (twenty years ago) link

the only thing good about Crank Yankers is the concept

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:19 (twenty years ago) link

The crabs were the only thing I'd cut out of the puppets.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:21 (twenty years ago) link

Mr. Show did virtually the same thing like, 8 years ago. (remember the HR Puffinstuff spoof)

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:23 (twenty years ago) link

I've never seen Mr. Show (the sound of David Cross's voice is too much for me to bear)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:28 (twenty years ago) link

understandable. Bob Odenkirk (who grew up in the town next to mine) is the reason why I like it.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:32 (twenty years ago) link

the mr. show skecth was funny, but this topped it EASY - plus mr. show was just 'hey man there were drug references on hr. puffnstuff holy moly', this was much more than that

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:38 (twenty years ago) link

wasn't this just "puppets have adult problems"?

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:39 (twenty years ago) link

It was "kids have adult problems and we are going to satirize that sad fact of modern urban life with foul-ass nasty puppets".

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:40 (twenty years ago) link

"... and Snoop's penis."

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:46 (twenty years ago) link

VeganDanPerry otm

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:47 (twenty years ago) link

good satire, bad comedy.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:50 (twenty years ago) link

hit too close to home for somebody it seems

cinniblount (James Blount), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:54 (twenty years ago) link

I don't think a mock-musical has ever made me laugh.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:57 (twenty years ago) link

Now you're even crazier. You didn't even chuckle at Charlie Murphy's Oscar the Grouch? Or Snidely Whip-Herpes leaving with "see you in hell, motherfuckers"?

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:00 (twenty years ago) link

I have to admit I enjoyed the "that's why...I say...fuck it" song.

Al (sitcom), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:33 (twenty years ago) link

two weeks pass...
dave chappelle is the funniest man alive. Ive seen every episode . Even the HBO 1 hour special.

jeran dahl, Saturday, 17 April 2004 03:57 (twenty years ago) link

i THOUGHT THE PART IN THE PUPPET SKETCH WHEN THE BIG ONE IN THE TRASHCAN WAS SINGIN "F**K IT" WAS PRETTY DAMN FUNNY

"I DONT NEED YOU HONEY,CUZ I BEAT MY DICK LIKE IT OWES ME MONEY"

THATS PRICELESS!!!!

mocha, Monday, 19 April 2004 15:49 (twenty years ago) link

"Black Bush" will go down as one of his best bits.

"a Coalition, you ask? Uh, uh, we got Afrika Bambaataa & the Zulu Nation, uhm, Stankonia will be dropping bombs over Baghdad..."

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Monday, 19 April 2004 16:27 (twenty years ago) link

Black Bush was terrible. The idea was great, there are so many places you could go with it, but it wasn't funny at all.

The segregated toilet sketch was cringe-inducing. But maybe I'm just not into shit humor.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 19 April 2004 16:30 (twenty years ago) link

the toilet bit was too long for very little funny.

Black Bush was genius, one of my favorites of the season.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Monday, 19 April 2004 17:14 (twenty years ago) link

MARS BITCHES. RED ROCKS!

cutty (mcutt), Monday, 19 April 2004 17:54 (twenty years ago) link

Ask For Smantha otm re: the segregationist toilet sketch. I thought the Wayne Brady one was right up there w/Black Bush. I will never watch anyting Wayne Brady is ever in, but I have a tiny pea-sized amoutn of respect for him now.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Monday, 19 April 2004 18:02 (twenty years ago) link

Yo bitches, Chapelles show is the best and if any ya'll disagree, I slap the taste out of yo mouth...King Kong aint got shit on me, BITCH

Rick James, Monday, 19 April 2004 23:05 (twenty years ago) link

Wayne Brady can act better than Dave
