Since Monaghan sold his share in the company 10 years ago and doesn't receive a penny from the company, this hasn't actually been true for a decade now.

I learned to differentiate between "American Pizza" and "actual proper pizza" at a young age, so shit doesn't bother me. Although if we're going for the former, PJ's over Dominos every time.
For the latter, if Jagger Bros live in an area of London covered by Lupa (http://www.lupapizza.co.uk/index2.html), he shoulda hit them up. They do proper stone oven shit, nice use of rosemary.

Cue invitable shitstorm about how rosemary doen't belong on a pizza, followed by subsequent shitstorm about how people had to google rosemary to find out what it was because EVERYBODY calls it pillaniche.
Then tipping.

On the other hand:
Mango Tandoori Chicken (N) Grilled tandoori chicken, mango, onions, roasted mixed peppers on a spicy curry sauce. Topped with fresh coriander. £8.50

Although why anyone would order the pizza off that menu when they have KILO POTS of moules mariniere, I don't know.
We should try and guess the Jagger Bros' Dominos order.
I'm guessing:
Large Mighty Meaty Medium Hot & Spicy Garlic mushrooms Two bottles of Fanta

I think they get back tomorrow morning.
Could liveblog my brother's GCSE results; they're pretty good. But instead, more pizza refutation. My two siblings are a) extremely lazy, and b) had the food money. Hence Domino's.
Our order was simply two large meat feasts, one with pizza sauce and one with BBQ, and nine pots of garlic sauce.
Would smash Lupa but I'm Saarf Landan aren't I, may try and drag kin to Zero Degrees today. If my middle brother even returns from his overnight "excursion". He has a history of doing bizarre things like going to Manchester without telling anyone.
And Dom, we drink water, milk and fruit juice, none of this Fanta stuff!

He's called Alex1s. And I just booked him a GCSE 'grats dinner at Zero Degrees. Stuff that Dominos.
(Joint) top of the country at English Lit, he was, at a decent comprehensive AND in a subject he's not doing at A-level.

Alexis is a bit nouveau riche. Was really hoping so something a bit more Westminster : (
Congratulations to him!
Not to be a downer on the kids, but isn't joint top these days not what it once was, in the sense that he presumably got full marks, like maybe 5% of candidates?
― caek, Thursday, 21 August 2008 12:54 (sixteen years ago) link

He's the only one at his school to get full marks in English Lit, but for all I know quite a few people achieve the same. I'll check the stats.
He's actually far more a scientist than me. I'll update you on his academic progress; he's a bit lazy but hopefully his results (2 A*, 7 A, 1 C in "Fine Art" lolz) will spur him onto a more hardworking mindset.
F3rg, you're forgetting the pate de chav gras side-order

full marks in english lit is probably nothing to be sniffed at. they give out full marks in maths like candy though. i got them for a start, and I was an idiot when I was 16.
lol C in fine art. that was my nemesis too, got a B (which was an improvement over the F I got in the mock). didn't take that subject entirely seriously.
― caek, Thursday, 21 August 2008 13:07 (sixteen years ago) link
There's a Fine Art GCSE now? In my day there was just Art, and it was a fucking piece of piss to get an A. Technology was the subject which was everyone's bugbear, and which everyone got a rubbish mark in (I got my only sub-B mark in it, a D).
― chap, Thursday, 21 August 2008 13:10 (sixteen years ago) link
Hmm. Well, his other A* was in Religious Studies, which he's also not taking for A-level. His A-levels, in fact, are Geography, History, Biology and Maths, which leaves his options for afterwards pretty open.
My other brother got a D in Art, at Westminster too. We are not the greatest set of draughtsmen you've ever seen, possibly!
Electronics is the only exam I've run out of. That was the year before GCSEs and I was able to drop it, thank heavens.
― Just got offed, Thursday, 21 August 2008 13:14 (sixteen years ago) link
They give out the % these days? Back in my day you just got your grade and that was it, none of this luxurious percentages and telling you what position you came in. No A stars either, new fangled rubbish.
I got a B in Technology though.
― Colonel Poo, Thursday, 21 August 2008 13:17 (sixteen years ago) link
"fine art" may actually have been "art" in my day too, not sure. going back a while here.
xp: most exams are modular now and you get individual scores so you can see your progress.
