There’s a Sammy’s here (as in Hagar). Do I go for some tequila?

It’s a good tequila and I think you deserve it. Try not to show up in a viral video later.

I was desperate enough to hear a follow up to 1984 that I gave 5150 another chance last weekend after nearly 30 years of abstinance. Starting with "Dreams", i made it as far as "reach for the golden ring" on my first attempt before switching it off.
The second time through was unbearably sad, though. It's the optimism for a future that never materialized, where you know you're watching a tragedy but the actors still think it's another kind of play. Part of it is def that there's a certain brand of corporate modernism preserved in amber, like they've ditched the laser grid of 1984, put on a blazer and stepped into the Frasurbane Mcdonalds. But also the energy of a new creative partnership that seems full of promise but already peaked.
Oh, Sammmy, I'd love a tequila TY for offering.

So I get to Orlando International Airport to get my mother. I miss the turn for cell phone lot so I cut through Departing Flights cos it's empty.
Few lights illuminated, unusually dark. I see this item lying there in my lane almost immediately and swerve out of the way.
It's a fucking car bumper. No cones to warn about it or any attempt to clear it, just this serious road hazard sitting there right almost immediately after you bank left.
This Airport is just more and more bizarre every day.

maybe it had fallen off the previous car to pass through and you were the first person to have the opportunity to clear it

Probably lucky it wasn't landing gear or some other important part of a Boeing plane.
― Jaq, Tuesday, 11 June 2024 02:07 (three days ago) link
I'm going with the more likely explanation that there was an accident that occurred there a while ago
Xpost yeah ain't nobody wanna be Donnie Darkoed

In any case I couldn't see what it was until I had already swerved out of its way. Due to lack of lighting

I was in the Austin airport last week and it wasn't bad except for having to walk almost a mile outside in 100 F heat to get to the taxi/rideshare pickup location.
― Jaq, Tuesday, 11 June 2024 02:10 (three days ago) link
Oi that's brutal

free bumper, dudewhen I was in Austin they had an entire section of the lower parking garage set up for uber/whatever that was attached to the airport but warm. did they move it?
― ɥɯ ︵ (°□°) (mh), Tuesday, 11 June 2024 03:56 (three days ago) link
I say warm as a pejorative here because the air wasn’t moving and it was just a bit toasty
― ɥɯ ︵ (°□°) (mh), Tuesday, 11 June 2024 03:57 (three days ago) link
Maybe it was the gates I flew into but yeah had to walk through a section of parking garage then go up a floor then walk some more to the pickup zone
― Jaq, Tuesday, 11 June 2024 04:25 (three days ago) link
no good!
