For Air Raid, make sure to shoot ahead of the planes, not directly at them. This'll make it (relatively) easy. Now, Supply Lines... that's just basically unwinnable. People have done it, but it's just not worth it. Luckily, Zero's missions aren't necessary to complete the storyline.

How to make lots of money easily: Bet on the horses. Always pick the one with highest odds. Soon, you'll have too much dough. Way too much.

As far as flying goes, make sure to retract the landing gear after takeoff. This should make things a great deal easier.

Joshua Houk (chascarrillo), Thursday, 25 November 2004 19:38 (nineteen years ago) link

for Supply Lines you need to go low and, if you can, behind them. and infinite ammo so remember to just keep blasting.

I personally think its worth it just to see the next crazy Zero mission (which is a lot easier thank god), it's not worth it for the extra cash which isn't really that much. you need to do it for 100% though.

awesome mission

chaki in charge (chaki), Thursday, 25 November 2004 23:17 (nineteen years ago) link

That's about the funniest and stupidest thing I've seen all day.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Friday, 26 November 2004 04:44 (nineteen years ago) link

chaki, you should be involved with the next gta.

lucifer, Friday, 26 November 2004 12:43 (nineteen years ago) link

So I found a new pastime in this game at the weekend. ARSON!!

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 29 November 2004 13:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Ooh, I did too! I found a flame thrower and spent ten minutes just setting things on fire. Like policemen.

I finally got through the Catalina missions. My last one was the four-wheelin' hillbillies one. I kept solving the mission, but getting Catalina back to the hideout was difficult. Once, I went up a hill on the four-wheeler. We fell off because it was too steep, and the quad ROLLED OVER CATALINA AND KILLED HER! Another time, one of the hillbillies fell off the bridge that we ramped over, and I had to dive down to the bottom of the creek to get the case. Of course, Catalina followed me in and promptly got run over by a speedboat.

¡Idiota!

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Monday, 29 November 2004 19:31 (nineteen years ago) link

PP, you make solving these missions seem so boring.

Jonathan (Jonathan), Monday, 29 November 2004 23:10 (nineteen years ago) link

and tonight i found a JUMBO JET! to fly, hidden in a hanger.

i just keep finding more missions as well, I now have helicopter and airplane races to attempt.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:16 (nineteen years ago) link

Am I giving too much away? I figured that most of you all were pimpin' in Vega$ by now.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:21 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm about to get to San Fierro. I just got my first rocket launcher, which is good, and used it to shoot down a police helicopter, which is good. Which then fell on top of me, which is bad.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:38 (nineteen years ago) link

Only in the short term.

M1chael Ph1lip Ph1lip Ph1lip Ph1lip Ph1lip Ann0yman (Ferg), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 00:59 (nineteen years ago) link

x-post Sorry PP, my post came out wrong. My point is that when you fail at missions, like the one with Catalina, it just sounds like it's more fun than simply finishing the mission. I think everyone is all over the place by now. I'm in San Fierro, where, like others, I can't solve Zero's missions, and seem incapable of making my girlfriends happy. :(

Jonathan (Jonathan), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 02:29 (nineteen years ago) link

I gotcha, jonathan. I'm lighthearted about it here maybe, but trust me, I was ready to get past some of these missions long ago.

Like I'm tired of losing the damn weapons test by one gunshot, over and over. Stupid Booth A Guy!

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 03:22 (nineteen years ago) link

fuck those shooting range missions are tedious aren't they. i don't seem to have any success with the shotgun.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 09:32 (nineteen years ago) link

oh man, i haven't played for like a fortnight, stupid floorsanding/going out drinking/partying/going to work :(

i am still, how you say, "in los santos" and feeling like class dunce at the moment. might have a few hours tonight if the missus will let me...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:13 (nineteen years ago) link

I finally left Los santos last night. feeling bad that I didn't do more gang wars and tags.

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:18 (nineteen years ago) link

yes... my brother had got all the areas when he left Los Santos; i was about halfway there but didn't know i was about to leave Los Santos, otherwise i would've made a concerted gang war effort...

stevie (stevie), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:45 (nineteen years ago) link

oh man, i haven't played for like a fortnight, stupid floorsanding/going out drinking/partying/going to work :(

quote of the year

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 10:52 (nineteen years ago) link

You can still go back to Los Santos and do tags though.

*****SPOILER ALERT******
"Gang wars do eventually come back"

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 12:59 (nineteen years ago) link

that spoiler was supposed to be in white text, sorry.

I've done up my Slamvan nicely, with a fiery paint job and wheel covers. Just a shame that it gets wrecked whenever I take it out the garage.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 13:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm in San Fierro doing the Wu Zi missions and have still not seen a single rampage! WTF?

57 7th (calstars), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 14:34 (nineteen years ago) link

there's a two player on in (iirc) montgomery, right by the fire station

Porkpie (porkpie), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 14:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Uh, there aren't any, apart from the two-player ones.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 14:44 (nineteen years ago) link

I attempted the Burglar missions for the first time last night, not quite what I was expecting in comparison to the Ryder mission. I thought it would be - Mission 1:'collect x objects from house y' etc. Instead it's quite a cool free for all drive around houses just racking up items for cash.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 15:55 (nineteen years ago) link

It's always a jolt to walk into a house and see a roomfull of gangstas sitting in the dark, waiting for you.

And that Basic Instinct-era Sharon Stone person has some balls leaping up and running at me like that.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 18:42 (nineteen years ago) link

I like the cameo in 'Farewell, My Love.'

57 7th (calstars), Tuesday, 30 November 2004 19:02 (nineteen years ago) link

hurrah, i got loads done last night, still in LS though, but i guess i must be getting close to escaping.

denise is a pain in the arse though...

i also realised that constant reloads after failing missions is not the way forward as they give you guns on lots of them and repeating increases one skill levels.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 10:12 (nineteen years ago) link

I told you that on Thursday!!

Catalina is *very* annoying

and the long drives in the badlands??? oh my days

Porkpie (porkpie), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 10:38 (nineteen years ago) link

Catalina seems like such a long time ago now...

What do I need to do to get the rest of the Madd Dogg missions? Finish with Toreno or do the heist?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 10:45 (nineteen years ago) link

what missions are currently available? what was the last mission you did?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 11:18 (nineteen years ago) link

i like how catalina sings daft punk whilst having sex.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 11:22 (nineteen years ago) link

its tempting to load up gta3 again just so you can kill her at the end, she's THAT annoying!

where can i find the riot van again?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 11:41 (nineteen years ago) link

Ste: I've just done the sky crane mission, Toreno's missions are still to be completed, him and Zero are all that's available at the moment, as I still need to get that damn key.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 11:56 (nineteen years ago) link

i managed to leave sky-crane mission until i'd finished the main game, what about the main casino missions have you done them? (on the left as you enter the casino) If so have you done any more missions on Los Santos since finishing them?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 13:53 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm currently trying to build up my skill levels. Last night, I drove my motorcycle from Los Santos to Montgomery back to Los Santos to San Fierro. My car driving skills are still shit (not as easy to weave in and out of traffic) and I still can't beat Booth 3 Guy in the shotgun competition. I enjoy driving tanker trucks these days, though. Nice relaxing way to earn a couple grand.

I'm also finding it much more relaxing to come home and go out with Denise than it is to deal with Catalina. Just like college.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 15:23 (nineteen years ago) link

There's a bit torrent of the 20-minute video introduction to the game over at SA. Supposedly it is inluded with the soundtrack sampler which is coming out soon.

57 7th (calstars), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:33 (nineteen years ago) link

PP you had two girlfriends in college?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:46 (nineteen years ago) link

i have stopped playing for a few days. my brain was hurtin

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I've started to locate where more helicopters are across the map, which is highly useful given the size of the place.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:56 (nineteen years ago) link

i also realised that constant reloads after failing missions is not the way forward as they give you guns on lots of them and repeating increases one skill levels.

-- CarsmileSteve

I told you that on Thursday!!

-- Porkpie

sorry, i meant to give you props for this tip, homie (oh dear).

also i was rather surprised when Los Angeles was mentioned in one of the cut-scenes rather than Los Santos...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:57 (nineteen years ago) link

can someone give me the time line that the whore who likes me to come over in the gimp suit and fuck the shit out of her... likes me to show up? i spend hours roaming around and get pissed and kill people cuz she is never home.

excuse me engrish

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 16:58 (nineteen years ago) link

i usually find the girls at home in mid afternoon, after 12:00 anyway. but someone might be able to provide more accurate times ?

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 17:05 (nineteen years ago) link

The only thing I know about Millie (the gimp suit loving lady) is that if anybody gives you a time to find her at her house, it's guaranteed she won't be there then when you actually play the game. For a nymphomaniac she's pretty difficult to get hold of.

lupine lupin (lupinelupin), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 21:18 (nineteen years ago) link

i met a girl on top of the ammunation in whetstone (i think) today, and she dissed me for being too muscly. So i shot her in the head.

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 21:36 (nineteen years ago) link

youre the second person on this thread to say that

chaki in charge (chaki), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 21:38 (nineteen years ago) link

Grand Theft Auto: Lego City

Onimo (GerryNemo), Thursday, 2 December 2004 11:13 (nineteen years ago) link

wow!

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 2 December 2004 11:33 (nineteen years ago) link

man, this shits funny

I don't believe it myself but it's amazing reading some of those posts and how deep some of the players got themselves into the myth.
