It feels like he wants right-wing respect and validation. I'm not a wooly liberal honest, I'm a street tough with rolled up sleeves like you guys we're the same in many ways. Dissidents telling like it really is

I feel like there's a moth to flame psychoanalytical component to this that isn't explained by either grift or ideology, not to relitigate yesterdays stuff about the murkiness of motivation too much, something hierarchical and simple which is a cornerstone of conservatism, or at least social conservatism

Wanting an explanation to where one individual has arrived from where he was at is point missing. Nobody cares about that here.
The posts here track Novara's statements on political issues, and where left wing media is going xp

I wrote about the pathetic arts policies in Labour's manifesto, and how the leadership's corporate approach to politics, embrace of austerity, hatred of Corbyn, and eagerness to please the right-wing media meant they would never be anything but dismal https://t.co/5b3TCYWJ2S— Juliet. "creating good jobs and accelerating growth"
there's something that has absolutely fuck all to do with The Arts

like Juliet says it is just an AI generated word salad, but I do feel quite strongly that only human beings can will ever genuinely be concerned about The Arts, without linking it GDP, growth, job creation - all these dire metrics that these ghouls live for.

Depressing if true.

To be honest, when I had a conversation months ago with a not especially politically engaged friend of mine - who lives in the constituency and was all Woh-oh-oh Jeremy Corbyn in 2017/2019 - and they said they would have to vote Labour to get the Tories out, I knew he'd lost.

Big if true as polls are often wrong.
Obv its bad if Praful wins, especially if -- for example -- the A&E in Islington is in danger of closing.
But Corbyn, whether an MP or not, would campaign locally for it.

Polls are only ever wrong when they say something good is going to happen, if they say a bad thing is going to happen they're always correct.
― Daniel_Rf, Wednesday, 26 June 2024 12:04 (two hours ago) link
You should never underestimate how little people know about how elections work. People literally do think that if you don't vote Labour in your constituency the Tories will win the General Election.

I think thats probably right, I think in practice people don't tend to vote differently if their vote isn't consequential to how they would have done if they lived somewhere it was
― anvil, Wednesday, 26 June 2024 12:30 (one hour ago) link
Corbyn has said he's working on a 2015-'19 memoir. Maybe he sensed this was coming. Anyone who is so ignorant that their definition of GTTO is voting for a pos private healthcare lobbyist millionaire, then there is no fucking hope for them at all.
