A mixture of wanting to be the big man and wanting a pat on the head from the big man

i hope Bastani dies soon

Wanting an explanation to where one individual has arrived from where he was at is point missing. Nobody cares about that here.

The posts here track Novara's statements on political issues, and where left wing media is going xp

Really hope they go bankrupt

three weeks pass...

I wrote about the pathetic arts policies in Labour's manifesto, and how the leadership's corporate approach to politics, embrace of austerity, hatred of Corbyn, and eagerness to please the right-wing media meant they would never be anything but dismal

"creating good jobs and accelerating growth"

there's something that has absolutely fuck all to do with The Arts

vodkaitamin effrtvescent (calzino), Tuesday, 18 June 2024 15:27 (one week ago) link

like Juliet says it is just an AI generated word salad, but I do feel quite strongly that only human beings can will ever genuinely be concerned about The Arts, without linking it GDP, growth, job creation - all these dire metrics that these ghouls live for.

linking it's worth - I meant

Depressing if true.

Blood On Santa's Claw (Tom D.), Wednesday, 26 June 2024 08:30 (five hours ago) link

To be honest, when I had a conversation months ago with a not especially politically engaged friend of mine - who lives in the constituency and was all Woh-oh-oh Jeremy Corbyn in 2017/2019 - and they said they would have to vote Labour to get the Tories out, I knew he'd lost.

Blood On Santa's Claw (Tom D.), Wednesday, 26 June 2024 08:33 (five hours ago) link

Big if true as polls are often wrong.

Obv its bad if Praful wins, especially if -- for example -- the A&E in Islington is in danger of closing.

But Corbyn, whether an MP or not, would campaign locally for it.

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 26 June 2024 11:00 (two hours ago) link

Polls are only ever wrong when they say something good is going to happen, if they say a bad thing is going to happen they're always correct.

Daniel_Rf, Wednesday, 26 June 2024 12:04 (one hour ago) link

You should never underestimate how little people know about how elections work. People literally do think that if you don't vote Labour in your constituency the Tories will win the General Election.

Blood On Santa's Claw (Tom D.), Wednesday, 26 June 2024 12:12 (one hour ago) link

I think thats probably right, I think in practice people don't tend to vote differently if their vote isn't consequential to how they would have done if they lived somewhere it was

anvil, Wednesday, 26 June 2024 12:30 (one hour ago) link

Corbyn has said he's working on a 2015-'19 memoir. Maybe he sensed this was coming. Anyone who is so ignorant that their definition of GTTO is voting for a pos private healthcare lobbyist millionaire, then there is no fucking hope for them at all.
