It's all about CRUNCH BERRIES!!

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

YOU GUYS ALL SUXOR WHAT IS WITH THE SPECIAL K/WHEAT GERM/FIBER OBSESSION?

jesus, you have to search: Capt'n Crunch, Marshamellow Safari (OTM on the welfare kid versions being much tastier), Cookie Crisp, Count Chocula, Crunch Berries, etc.

DESTROY SPECIAL K. I HAVE THE METABOLISM OF A HUMMINGBIRD! I EAT ALL OF THESE AND THEN SOME! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!

The only healthy cereal that is good is Kashi but only the one that is crunchy or whatever. I mean I guess honey nut cheerios is good, and Life (PLAIN NOT CINAMMON YOU FUCKERS) is good, are they healthy? Who cares, BRING ME THE BOOBERRY.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

There is a cereal my wife eats called "Go Lean", I'm not sure if it makes you take thinner than usual poops or if it supposed to be a diet cereal. It tastes like foam.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

ANother thing, my wife and I have this long running argument about what kind of cereal the kids will eat when we have them. I insist on sugar cereals, I ate them and I'm fine ;) and she insists on healthy crap.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:35 (twenty-one years ago) link

Healthy crap is for suckers. HEALTHY IS FOR SUCKERS. Do you all hear me?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:37 (twenty-one years ago) link

my gut and I hear you just fine Ally.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:37 (twenty-one years ago) link

Wow, that's quite a reaction. Ally + Special K => Hanle y

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

All y

Misreading "BOOBERRY" as "BOOBERY": C/D?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

that's all fine and dandy; however, i don't have a sweet tooth.

i prefer sours/bitters (INDIE FUCKING GUILT).

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

Sour cereal?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

Special K is not healthy, just tasty. It's all refined flour, which turns to sugar in your mouth. Just because the Special K commercials have the models parading around eating Special K and strawberries wearin white maillot swimsuits borrowed from a feminine hygiene ad does not make the cereal healthy. It's just a more subtle version of a sugar cereal.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:46 (twenty-one years ago) link

Sour Patch Kids the cereal:c/d

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

I never eat cereal, hardly ever. It's sort of expensive.

Mandeee, Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

It really is.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:48 (twenty-one years ago) link

$7.99 a box.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:48 (twenty-one years ago) link

so THAT'S why I like it so much! sugarsugarsugar!

M Matos (M Matos), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:49 (twenty-one years ago) link

Kaboom is the Nervous Records of cereal.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:50 (twenty-one years ago) link

I like Weetabix.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

Is Kaboom the cereal w/circus theme? and the commercial went something like "there's lions--rrowr--in every bite"? I have a tape of me making a parody of it (along w/the abdominizer thingee--"behold the spare tire...) from when I was about 9 yrs old.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

I'm sure it is very good but Weetabix sounds like the Dave Matthews Band of cereal.

See pic of Kaboom upthread. It is like happy hardcore cereal. Stays crunchy in 808s.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

come to think of it, my dog eats weetabix for breakfast too.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

DAN PERRY GRAPE NUTS IS SOUR HAVE YOU EVER HAD MUESLI

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 17:01 (twenty-one years ago) link

Grape Nuts isn't sour at all! It's actually pretty sweet. Also, the only time I've noticed sourness in muesli is when I've eaten it with yogurt, which is obviously about 95,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more sour.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 17:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

Grape Nuts will make you constipated if you eat a big enough bowl. i learned the hard way in 5th grade.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 17:08 (twenty-one years ago) link

wheaties + bananas = my everyday breakfast for the the first 18 years of my life.

Someone told me this thread was about sex as well, but all I see is stuff about bananas and nuts. I've been lied to.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 17:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

search:
* Cinna-Cluster Raisin Bran (my favorite)
* pretty much any other kind of raisin bran, esp. Raisin Bran Crunch
* Honey Bunches of O's (plain only - don't like the almond or berry versions)
* Frosted Mini-Wheats out of the box

destroy:
* Cream of Wheat/oatmeal - I used to like both as a kid, but am no longer a fan of the hot cereals

mike a (mike a), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 18:24 (twenty-one years ago) link

Oooh, oatmeal.
I too used to eat it as a tyke, but then stopped liking it. Recently though, my friend turned me onto to this combo: 1 packet of Strwbrr&Cream and 1 packet of Peaches&Cream. Pretty yummy.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 18:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

Grape Nuts are hard and disgusting. They break your teeth but if you let them sit in milk for even two minutes, they turn into an oatmealy consistency - what's the point of Grape Nuts? I hate them and their forebearers.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 18:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

Having just returned to this thread, the perversions listed above re: Mario are signs that you are all damned unto perdition.

Grape Nuts, meanwhile, are mighty fine.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:35 (twenty-one years ago) link

I like the kind of oatmeal that's steel cut or whole oats, not the rolled/processed stuff. It takes forever to cook (comparatively), but kicks ass with some butter and honey. And it's super cheap if bought in bulk food stores.

I was just eating some Golden Grahams. Those were pretty good. I was never allowed to eat sweet, non-healthy cereal as a kid, and so now I'm rather fond of it.

I was surprised the Mario discussion died out so quickly and the thread returned to the actual topic...

JuliaA (j_bdules), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:44 (twenty-one years ago) link

One of the best things about college were the big bins of cereal in the all-you-can-eat dining hall. Though I foolishly wasted my youthful years and college cereal-eating opportunities on Lucky Charms and Captain Crunch, trying to make up for my lost childhood spent in foreign countries eating curry and crepes and stuff. Oh, I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

Cereal doesn't satisfy my hunger in any way.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

So what you're saying is you like a MAN'S breakfast.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:53 (twenty-one years ago) link

And that man is Mickey Rooney.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:53 (twenty-one years ago) link

He certainly would make a well-soaked ham.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:54 (twenty-one years ago) link

How many ways could cereal satisfy your hunger?

Nick A. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

David Bowie and Susan Sarandon in Cereal Hunger. Serve blood over your cornflakes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

MENSES FIGHT! (ew)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 19:56 (twenty-one years ago) link
