oh that walt, we got "more than we bargained for" with him

walt by far the most wasted opportunity on lost, even in season 1 which he was in regularly

it totally sucks since they were hinting since the end of season 3 that he was gonna come back in a major way, but since his one-off last season it seems like he's just getting dropped altogether w/no real explanation. then again they might FINALLY address the whole child abduction thing this year...

then again considering how lame Michael's comeback turned out, maybe it's for the best

i watched bits of the finale again earlier and noticed a few things for the first time e.g. when Ilana is in the cabin she sees this bizarre picture of what looks like a traumatised St Bernard (at first i thought it was Vincent) and gives what almost seems a sad glance of recognition ha

oh - except rousseau, alex, karl :( guess that's finished, then. and no nikki and paolo? guess they couldnt think of enough of a stretch to re-include them.

oh and no penny either! but I guess these are all people who stepped foot on the island. michael is looking rather dapper. none of this "mah boy!" business this season I hope.

That's awesome! He totally deserves it.

I reaally hope they made Ben a good character again. I'd let them get away with all sorts of asinine plot twists if they'd bring back old Ben and cut this defeated wuss thing they've got him stuck in.

I'm trying to think of any way they could have S6 as even a partial reset without the season becoming a complete mess of convoluted plotlines tripping over one another, unless they use Ben/Richard/Jacob as some kind of linking thread.

really hope they pull it off.

maybe the characters will find themselves flipping between the island and LA in "real time" ie they have all become Desmond. doesn't sound workable at all really but if they can bring back s1 characters at all then...

+ maybe lots of 'Jacob shows how much worse things are now that 815 never crashed, by causing natural disasters, being a massive terrorist and whatnot' (could be awesome if done in the Doctor Who 'Turn Left' type way)

i'm kinding of running with the assumption that the reset did work and flight 815 does land but then they all somehow end up on th island anyway, INCAPABLE of ESCAPING their DESTINY

S6 is going to be Parkman as a serial killer offing all of the Losties because they didn't go to the island

I kind of have to give "Lost" massive props for being an ensemble show with 26 characters.

Parallel timelines in place of flashbacks would be pretty great actually. They could systematically kill every character off in one. I'd like to see violent bloody Jack death.

one thing I would like to be very, very careful of is turning "Lost" into Sliders"

i'm guessing the parallel timelines will probably CONVERGE at some point

hoping they stick with no parallels like they said they would personally. having one 815 crash and one 815 not crash in the same world is not quite the same thing. plus they've teased before about characters potentially meeting their past selves (Locke esp. had the opportunity to do this) and maybe they should follow up on that as daft as it may be. omg could lead to countless versions of the key characters running around.

Actually the only way they could possibly get anywhere near including that many characters is to get rid of flashbacks, flashforwards, parallel timelines everything and keep it more or less in one timeline. I'm guessing a big chunk of the series could involve Richard Alpert trying to get them to do whatever it is they're supposed to do.

Every option I can think of for how this will play out sounds shit.
