Aziz is great. "These are Souljaboytellems. Those are bonethugsinharmoniums."

it's been hit or miss till this weeks but this was the best one yet. Aziz keeps stealing it though with his shirts. The gay one last week and the monogrammed one this week.

But everybody was good...the boss in the chair even.

Every week makes me love this show more.

I thought for a split second Aubrey Plaza might break out her Sarah Silverman impression:

As someone pointed out on the Community thread, how did Chris Pratt become one of the best things on the show? Definitely agree that the show's getting better week to week, and Louis C.K. seems like a good addition.

Nhex, Saturday, 3 October 2009 19:32 (fourteen years ago) link

it was pointed out in this thread

I always liked Chris Pratt on Everwood, but didn't realize he could be so funny and weird.

Watching the episode this week, I was thinking about that guy living in the pit and what would he do it it rained and then I got the answer. The ex-boyfriend living in a pup tent in a big construction hole across the street is up with weird like the guy having to climb a pole to make a phone call in Green Acres. I kind of like it and think they could just make a show about the guy in the pit and forget the other stuff.

He was the best thing about the show last season! I wasn't going to watch S2 until I heard they'd made him a regular character.

lol. reminds of the plans they had for the 3rd season of 'get a life' which never got made. chris elliott was going to be a homeless drifter, after living w/ his parents in season 1 and with gus in season 2

So glad dude embraced the crazy

tehresa, Sunday, 11 October 2009 03:04 (fourteen years ago) link

I assumed that the show would improve a lot in the second season, but this start has just been amazingly good.

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 11 October 2009 08:05 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah, it's been a drastic and noteworthy improvement. On a par with the office this season.

should I watch this? do not care for the US Office much.

so i'd only seen the pilot up until last night, and dang this show has improved. still feels office-y in its format, but the characters are actually distinct and funny.

whereas watched the office wedding episode(s) and am just sort of bored with their stupid schtick now

a perfect urkel (gbx), Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:00 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah im actually kind of pleased that this show started to get good just as the office finally started to suck

fleetwood (max), Sunday, 11 October 2009 15:02 (fourteen years ago) link

i think i may like it better than the office right now.

tehresa, Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:47 (fourteen years ago) link

I do for sure.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 11 October 2009 16:52 (fourteen years ago) link

Me too. I think the characters are just starting to come into their own.

Nicolars was the drummer for Gay Dad (Nicole), Sunday, 11 October 2009 17:00 (fourteen years ago) link

I also enjoy this more than the office now. It's less like the office than it used to be.

Super Cub, Sunday, 11 October 2009 18:38 (fourteen years ago) link

also the characters are more likeable, imo

a perfect urkel (gbx), Sunday, 11 October 2009 18:40 (fourteen years ago) link

The Jim in this one is schlubbier and never looks at the camera.

They're actually kind of nice to each other.

Andrew Kornfan, Friday, 16 October 2009 15:45 (fourteen years ago) link

this ep was ok. i don't know, something about the whole Venezuela premise was too obviously sitcommy for me. i do like it that Leslie has more chances to be semi-serious/not be a complete bumbling idiot all the time.

Nhex, Saturday, 17 October 2009 02:29 (fourteen years ago) link

it was the worst episode of either season, but considering how great the season has been so far I don't really mind.

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 17 October 2009 03:04 (fourteen years ago) link

^^^this

tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 05:49 (fourteen years ago) link

great aubrey this ep tho

tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 05:49 (fourteen years ago) link

that's true. i wasn't really down with aubrey until recently, and this is one of those eps building her up as more than a one-note candy sour

Nhex, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:09 (fourteen years ago) link

haa xp u guys crazy this is the only ep i enjoyed fully - prob cause insulting s americans are funnier than cloying stilted flawed/lovable character dynamics - they should run w/the ott vibe and forget abt that 2nd rate officey bullshit

depressed girl and boss are funny - amy polher i feel like is failing to bring the required pathos to the character - indian guy is coasting - r jones is teh hot - guy from the assassination of jesse james is a good actor in a nothing role

ice cr?m, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:31 (fourteen years ago) link

i just hate that almost the whole ep relied on armisen.

tehresa, Saturday, 17 October 2009 06:36 (fourteen years ago) link

he was hilar
