Unfortunately they don't sell it in California (unless someone knows otherwise!). They do sell something called Czechvar which is supposedly from the same brewery but doesn't taste nearly as good.
Search also: Guinness (yes A, beer is good food!), Budweiser (especially during Raider games - n.b. it tastes like shit in Britain where they change the formula) Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Red Hook, Anchor Steam, and Keystone Dry (for being the best tasting dirt cheap beer when I was 18 and had no way of obtaining anything else - respect).

― Simeon (Simeon), Saturday, 12 October 2002 11:07 (twenty-three years ago)
it tastes even worse in the states and is weaker.
― chris (chris), Saturday, 12 October 2002 17:28 (twenty-three years ago)
Light causes beer to "skunk" through some chemical reaction. Clear bottles are useless, green a tiny bit better, and dark brown the best, but not perfect, at preventing this.

I dig all the Unibroues that I've had. I'm about to have an Ephemere apple one and normally I don't even like fruit beers - this one just smells more like apple than it actually tastes.
Lately the default beers in my fridge have been Alaskan IPA and Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale.

I've been hanging around a lot with those people that don't eat meat so its all Stella's and Becks.
Drinking mainstream continental lager and vegetarianism go hand in hand do they?
I quite like Becks (is it just me that thinks it tastes slightly of apple juice?), Stella is rank though.

Had a locally-brewed highly-hopped beer in Omaha a week or two ago and while I used to not dig lotsa hops it really worked for me, so when I got home I tried a thing from PA called Hops Infusion. Oh man. This here is a great beer. brewery's website is here:

Anderson Valley's Summer Solstice Cerveza is one of the best brews I've had in a long time (and I've pretty much had everything the distributors around here provide)
OTOH Mendocino Valley's White Ale is nearly undrinkable. Tasted like fruity/spicy sausage. Should be ideal for making beer brats, though.

A company called Alchemiste has four beers that I'm aware of-- an IPA, a blonde, a red, and a bock. Search the IPA, but as I learned this week... destroy the other three. :( The blonde tastes so sickly sweet it's almost syrupy. Augh.

S: Any real German/Czech/Polish lager (see above Budvar/Budweiser discussion). Any Scottish lager, any English ale (especially hand pumped served NOT ice cold.
D: Guinness (tastes awful, costs a bomb), Tennents (battery acid/clyde water), Carling, Budweiser, hell - almost every bad premium lager served in bars over here...
― AndyTheScot, Sunday, 20 July 2008 18:54 (seventeen years ago)
are there any lagers of note brewed in england? that are available in america?
― mizzell, Monday, 21 July 2008 22:16 (seventeen years ago)
English lager? Well ... There's a lager made by Wells that is available over here, but I don't think I've ever seen Wells lager in England. Must be an export only deal (possibly a re-brand of something less notable) so I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you want English lager for the sake of English lager.
And that is actually all I can think of.
