your new name...

take the name of your first pet and then the name of your street to give yourself a first and last name, a new lease on life...

someone did this at a pre-party gathering the other night and it raised a few laughs, and a couple of names that have stuck since - seeing as they're much more interesting than the original ones...

jayne (jayne), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sally A Avenue? I sound like a character from a Guys and Dolls knockoff.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:01 (twenty-three years ago)

mine's PUDDY ROYAL... i quite the the sound of that. like a b grade porn character, but with style. ha

jayne (jayne), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:02 (twenty-three years ago)

boxcubed (boxcubed), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Though I guess if I used my current street and not my old one where I mostly grew up, Sally Vallejo has a definite drag sense to it.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Patty Wrangler

A Nairn (moretap), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I have always heard this introduced as 'your porn star name' and mine turns out just right: 'ginger adams'

Josh (Josh), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Sparky Brody just sound stoopid.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Ginger South-Washington...it has a certain air.

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Sasha Powhatan. Make of that what you will.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Boo McCoy. haha. Ph34r me.

Aaron A., Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:50 (twenty-three years ago)

although 'adams' was my first street - now I would be 'ginger ashland' which sounds classier and has more opportunities for dan

Josh (Josh), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:54 (twenty-three years ago)

If it's first pet and first street, I'd be Grey Slayer Grey

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 02:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Sooty Princess (!)

Ess Kay (esskay), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 03:05 (twenty-three years ago)

haha

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 03:22 (twenty-three years ago)

My name would be 'Patch High'. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere, but as it's 6.00am on a cold, dark and wet Wednesday morning, I can't really think of one right now :)

C J (C J), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 04:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Keith McD (Keith McD), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 04:41 (twenty-three years ago)

The porn star name formula I've always heard is: middle name + name of street you grew up on.

By that formula my porn star name is Long Johnson.

Paul Eater (eater), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 04:48 (twenty-three years ago)

knicnkicnkinkcin flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Tad (llamasfur), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 05:58 (twenty-three years ago)

My name would be Queen Flintebjergvaenget. That's just weird!

My porn star name, according to the middle name + street I grew up on formula would be Averil Rural Route. Does that mean I can only play Daisy Mae characters? I'm not that kind of girl, unfotunately.

Susan Bradley (susanabra), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 06:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Gungee Golden Stairs.

(I win)

Sam (chirombo), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 06:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I always heard your Pornstar name was your first pet and your mothers maiden name, in which case I'm Scamp Biggins. The street name is Scamp Dumbarton, which just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow...

Plinky (Plinky), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 07:00 (twenty-three years ago)

chewbacca palmerston

michael wells (michael w.), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 07:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Tawny Minge - do I win?

Lara, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 07:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Black Roberts, my younger brother is Pat Roberts

Perry Bernard (panterus), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Lara, you do not live on Minge Street, you cheated.

Plinky (Plinky), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:12 (twenty-three years ago)

'living on Minge Street' is a great euphemism

Alfie (Alfie), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:20 (twenty-three years ago)

since I've never had a pet, I'll use my first roomates' pet: Latte Cedar

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Not any more I don't. And it wasn't a street it was a farm. Hmph.

Lara, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Minge Farm. Chortle.
Don't believe you, I require proof.

Plinky (Plinky), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Mattie Purcell. I actually quite like that...

Never do anything involving "mother's maiden name" things on the internet. It's a scam. Most banks and other financial services use mother's maiden name as your password, so never give it out in public.

kate, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 09:14 (twenty-three years ago)

b but nobody knows who I am really, right? And I don't use my mum's maiden name as security coz loadsa people ask for it. So my pennies are safe right?

Plinky (Plinky), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 09:22 (twenty-three years ago)

miles white... ?!?!?!?

chaki (chaki), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 09:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Minge is actually a quite common surname. But is not pronounced
'min-dge', rather 'meeeeng'....for obvious reasons. Another personal favourite os the surname Hoare.

*Just remembered* Mum knew someone at school who was called Ima Ramsbottom.

Lara, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 10:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Mercereau Alabama.

Minnesota had a (republican) Congressman Minge, but he pronounced it ming-eee.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 10:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I get a porn star name of Snowy Mann........

Another algo was your name as a US Senator - 1st name is yr street, second name is job of either grandfather, then add 'the third' on the end:

As a US senator I would be 'Barony Miner IIIrd'

Ray M (rdmanston), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 11:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Porn star name = Tabby Clarence. Or The Ginger Cat Clarence, but that wasn't really my pet. I can't have a senator name because I have no idea what my grandfather's jobs were.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Cocoa Patterson

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 11:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Jaws State Highway 17.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 11:55 (twenty-three years ago)

STAR WARS DROID NAME!

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 12:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, first pet + streetname = Pip Playford. Kind of reminiscent of a C18th dandy, one feels:

"What ho, my hearties! Shall we head to yonder hills for to appreciate the fine Country Side, following this pleasant Repose with a Roister-doistering at the village inn?"

Eep, Uncle Monty from "Withnail & I".

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Philomena Hampton

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 14:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Mogsey Oakleigh

and for the senator name:

Rokesly Locksmith III

or

Rokesly Bandleader III

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Bimbo High, which suits me so much better than 'Martin Skidmore' that I am tempted to change.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 17:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Depends on which pet I choose. My name would either be Binx M Knowes, Looper M Knowes or Skye M Knowes.

Shaz, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I am Greedy Augustus! Sounds like some deviant sexual practice (cf dirty Sanchez)...

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 22:23 (twenty-three years ago)

ohh not the dirty sanchez...

I'd be Lola Blackburn... not quite the stripper name I'd hoped for

luna.c (luna.c), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 22:28 (twenty-three years ago)

i kinda like my senator name:
Depot Florist the III
or, alternately
Depot US Postal Employee the III

amy (amy), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 22:50 (twenty-three years ago)

amy - you live in a depot?

Bimbo - that's a bloody good idea - I'm tempted to change my identity to my pornstar name now too.......

Snowy Mann (rdmanston), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 22:56 (twenty-three years ago)

sadly, no. i live in a quaint "train-themed" development (located far enough from actual train tracks to render it ridiculous). the streets are as follows:
depot, caboose, turntable, whistle stop, and junction.
ew, suburbs.

amy (amy), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:02 (twenty-three years ago)

ridiculous train themed development!!!! I must move there!

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Theodore Spruce.

I might use that as my screen name down the line.

Rockist Scientist, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

For where I am now, and my newest pet:
Jennings Creek

A Nairn (moretap), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:27 (twenty-three years ago)

depot, caboose, turntable, whistle stop, and junction.

You've got to be kidding!
It sounds like the line-up for some novelty train-themed rapper crew.
Are you telling me ppl live on 'Turntable Street' ?

Ray M (rdmanston), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:29 (twenty-three years ago)

First pet and first street would make me Alexander Hague. Pronounced aloud, it associates me with this guy.
(NOTE: Alexander was a parakeet)

Nate Patrin, Wednesday, 16 October 2002 23:40 (twenty-three years ago)

o dear - wuffy brunton. i sound like i should be getting driven to a posh school by my chauffeur.

donna (donna), Thursday, 17 October 2002 02:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Some porn star already has my middle name.

Rockist Scientist, Thursday, 17 October 2002 03:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Amy I think it's fabulous that you had a pet named Melissa.

"Penny Gribble"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 17 October 2002 03:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Name of first pet (goldfish) plus name of street I grew up on (Ocean Parkway):

Inky Ocean.

And if you wanna use the cross-street:

Inky Neptune.

Jody Beth Rosen, Thursday, 17 October 2002 04:33 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
If I use the first street + first pet formula...well, I can't remember if Dusty the black cat, or Snowy the white dog was my first pet...so...take your pick... Snowy Buckingham, or Dusty Buckingham. Either of those names would make me the winner. I am L33t!

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 07:59 (twenty-two years ago)
