turner (turner), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 04:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I've never tried to post when drunk. I can't recall ever having used a computer when slightly tipsy. The reasons for this are simple. I usually post at work and obv. I'm never drunk there. If I post from somewhere else, the chances are it is my girlfriend's house or (v. rarely) an internet café and this will be before going to a pub, club or wherever which means I won't have drunk anything. I know that I get more impatient when I've been drinking, so I'd imagine that by the time I'd switched the computer on, waited for it to boot up, clicked on IE and found the URL for ILX i would've said "sod this", given up and gone to bed.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I've looked back at some of my drunken postings, and I quiver with embarrassment. I can't tell if anyone else is drunk, but you should be able to tell if I am, as I'm talking even more shite than usual.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 08:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd imagine that when you're drunk (unless you're an impatient drunk like me) then your tendency to start something you can't finish diminishes considerably and all those posts when you would decide to abandon whilst sober see the light of day.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 09:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes if I know them.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 16 October 2002 10:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Still: lame.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 29 May 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

But plausible.

Pack Yr Romantic Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 29 May 2004 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

It is my heartfelt wish that everyone on ilx post always in the same state of inebriation that I enjoy when I post, lest I be forced to reconsider the esteem in which I hold you all.

Michael White (Hereward), Saturday, 29 May 2004 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have posted very drunk. Being drunk does not = banging on the keys like a drunken macaque.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 29 May 2004 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

So don't do it. Let other people have their fun.

Pack Yr Romantic Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Saturday, 29 May 2004 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

but monkeys and drunkards are funny!

I edit my posts for spelling and grammar, even while drunk. I know other people who don't, though. Go figure.

Bimble (bimble), Sunday, 30 May 2004 00:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i can handle my shit, yo.

ooops on his 6th pint, Sunday, 30 May 2004 02:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, 'drunken typing' only seems funny when you're drunk, which isn't to say drink makes you incoherent. Just confused. Did that make much sense? 'Cuz yes, I'm pretty tipsy right now, believe it or not.

Fr4ncis W4tlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 30 May 2004 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

fact: roxy actually writes better messages whilst drunk.

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 30 May 2004 10:29 (twenty-two years ago)

there was this one time when i was in uni.. i was installing a new hard drive on my computer, and i got as far as plugging everything in the right place and turning it on in order to FDISK it, before my friend knocked on the door asking if i fancied a drink at the bar, so i said yeah i'll go for one, and ended up drinking loads of vodka and red bull and i was totally off my face.

i woke up the next morning, my computer was turned off, i was like OMG WTF HAVE I KILLED THE COMPUTER???????? panic panic, turned on the computer, and it appeared that, without any recollections of it, i've managed to somehow finished the partitioning the harddrive and formatted it properly! (not the most technical task ever maybe but still!)!! And the volume label i gave the drive?

"imdrunk"

haha.

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 30 May 2004 10:36 (twenty-two years ago)

'Bout two years ago, I unscrewed all th' bolts holding my computer together while drunk. I still haven't screwed them back on. Meh. *shrugs (in shame)*
