dont know where you are toby, but here ( nz and aus )you can get bonds ones which are pretty good i think, as far as fading/ wrinkling/ unravelling at seams goes.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Toby .. Agnés B t-shirts are great.
I used to work there 5 years ago and I still have a few black and white tees (long sleeve & 3/4 length) which have kept both shape and - for the black tees - colour extremely well.
They moved all the menswear exclusively to the Ladbroke Grove store but after shite sales figures they moved them back to Covent Garden as well.

Avoid Calvin Klein underwear t-shirts/vests unless you're a barrel chested hunk with at least a 32" waist otherwise they look stupid. Totally shapeless. Might as well save your money and buy GAP.

Helmut Lang are the daddy but they're just stupidly expensive. Softest cotton though. Strictly for first dates.

If you want cheap and cheerful, check out Interstate on Endell Street (also Covent Gdn) where they sell 3-packs of Hanes and Fruit Of The Loom plain white tees, crew or v-neck.
One Aggy B will cost the same as three of those. Can't go wrong really.

Doesn't Agnes B make women's dresses and handbags and the like? No, men should not wear stuff like that (well, some men should, but nobody on ILX nossir). Sure some t-shirts fit nicer than others, but spending a lot on them is foolish, since they're gonna get discolored under the arms in about 3 wearings, and by their very nature of being thin will become threadbare after a few months of washing. Then you throw them out. I'm all for spending a little more on something nice, but I'd like it to last a while.

And lawrence your comment made me laugh out loud.

H+M Conwell t-shirts are v.nice (as Sarah can testify) and only a fiver or so each. Do not settle for LOGG ones as they are loglike (DYS!)

Toby - Top Man do well-shaped, heavyweight plain t-shirts with a good neck. About £10, I think? I have two, and they're easily my favourite t-shirts.

NB I bought them a couple of years ago, but hopefully they still have them. Moto brand, I think it is.
