Convince me to come to New York this Christmas

Pros:

a) My sister and her boyfriend are going, there's an apartment I can stay at for most of the time, and there's frequent flyer points to pay for the airfare.
b) I *so* want to see New York.
c) I'll get to meet all of y'all (well, some of y'all)

Cons:

a) I'm also moving out this Christmas - how can I save for this trip and bond money and rent?
b) I'd be leaving my boyfriend behind, who would kill to even have a chance go overseas (and is saving for such a chance right now, but has another 10 months or so to go) - am I just a spoilt upper-middle-class brat? (He says I should go, obv.)

I can vouch for Tim's all around goodness, and if you were all lucky enough to have a holiday get-together with him, then it would be a grand time all around. To be in the same room where Tim, Ally and M. Matos are = a blessed event and a sight to behold. :-)

I saw that as well...really, this will all depend. I work straight up to a day or two before Xmas Eve (good god, that reminds me, I need to check with my folks about that!), then will be in Carmel from the 24th to the 26th at the very least. What I could conceivably do is fly out from SF to NYC and then back to LA from there, or maybe just fly down to LA before hopping directly over...well, we'll see. If this doesn't happen, sometime early next year, more than likely March.
