Hello all,
Having arrived in London last Saturday, from Gothenburg (Sweden), I just peeped out to whine about how I don't know anyone here and how unsatisfying it is to enjoy this city on my own. So if anyone feel like helping me out in this distress, I would be honoured to make your aquaintance...
I'm here for the summer, which I'm looking forward to filling with music, people, dancing, cafés and sitting in parks. Since I'm a musician, another thing that would just wonderful is to meet up and play some music. After a week, I'm already itching all over from not being able to play instruments and sing with people as I'm used to... misery, misery!
I haven't made that many plans so far, but I'm thinking of going to the Crimes Against Pop club in the Buffalo Bar on Saturday, and I also have tickets for the Belle and Sebastian concert on July 18th.
So, well.. if anyone feels like having a coffee, a pint, going out to a club or just hanging out in general, mail me or even better call/text me:

Cheers,

Sorry if you read this twice.. Mark Hester, whom you might or might not know, told me about a couple of message boards and I figured I'd post to them all :)

Where does the Jarmusch title Stranger Than Paradise come from? I'm reading a Paul Aster novel which mentions a magazine called Stranger Than Fiction, is that it?

It is kind of a sad city to be in by oneself, but it's a nice, bittersweet sadness.

Well, I guess so. But I'm really not that sad about it, after all it's what I expected, I'm more like.. bored. Managed to meet some people this weekend at least.

Well, if you really want to meet a load of London mentalists, this week there's the
Club Freaky Trigger Glasto Reunion Wednesday 30 June.
Crimes Against Pop is jolly good indie disco fun, and I am sad that I will be elsewhere this Saturday, as event have connived to prevent me going to far too many.

I keep reading your name as Simon Amstell and wishing I were a gayer. Swoon.
But, yes! Crimes Against Pop is excellent fun and this Friday sees the next outing of Soul Mole - which is fab also. http://www.linusland.co.uk/mitg.html for details.

Yeah, Club Freaky Trigger is an excellent call - there will be a couple of dozen London ILXers there.
