what snacks are nearest your bed, if you eat in bed

I like the idea of eating in bed, but the reality is dreadful. In a perfect world, we would all have roast beef sandwiches under our pillows.

Num. But the crumbs might make a mess.

Cold winter morning, curled up in bed with a bit of toast and some hot cocoa = lurvly.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

o yes roast beef sandwiches now i am craving one!!!!!!! YUM!!!!!!!
sadly, in real life i have nil snacks by my bed, though i would like to have some handy.
i love having breakfast in bed (even though it is a pain trying to balance a tray with bacon 'n eggs and coffee, whilst making sure toast crumbs stay out of the sheets.

STOP MAKING ME HUNGRY YOU BASTARDS

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I would not like to eat in bed.

Sean (Sean), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 22:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Try it Sean, try I say! Try it, try it and you may! You may like it Sean, I say!

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 23 October 2002 22:29 (twenty-three years ago)

eating in bed is no good. DO NOT do it.

famous shirley bassey quote:

asked abt her lovers bringing her breakfast in bed the next morning:

"oh...the crumbs I slept with!"

erik, Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:21 (twenty-three years ago)

btw, I eat Sesamestreet-biscuits in bed. I'm single and 35.

erik, Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I eat breakfast in bed whenever I'm not in a rush. Consequently, the only foodstuff you can ever find by my bed is a plateful of crumbs.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:25 (twenty-three years ago)

All you really need is a bottle of water and the one you love.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 24 October 2002 08:42 (twenty-three years ago)

i never eat (food, haha) in bed. in the past i have often considered myself to be quite slovenly, the more i listen to other people the more i know that not to be the case.

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:23 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm thinking about the 'unhealthy meals' thread. oh, and that one about sandwiches a while ago. yeeuurrghh.

michael wells (michael w.), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I work in bed so I snack quite often too. Isabel and I are always having breakfast (or indeed supper) in her bed too. The most recent thing I ate in bed was a packet of Wotsits which was a dreadful idea crumbwise.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I eat dinner in bed. and if i'm at home then i eat lunch too. can't remember the last time i ate on a table.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Bed is the best place in the world to eat. At the weekends I always like to have my breakfast there and it is also the best place to eat cold leftover pizza (though not if I have company as this is apparently a gross & offputting habit).

Emma, Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I like eating toast in bed. Though, it's kinda nasty when you go to bed later and find bits of jam everywhere.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Ostrich biltong. Honestly. I think I may have mentioned this before.

(I don't actually have any any more, but I used to, and it's by far the best answer I could give, so live with it)

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Jel, I don't understand how you can get jam in the bed - are you a messy eater generally? Having a shelf-like bosom does help to catch the odd stray crumb, but bits of jam everywhere??

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:41 (twenty-three years ago)

It's the amount of jam and butter, I have far too much and it can fall off, or catch the edge of the duvet, or whilst reaching for the remote control the toast could be knocked over! And it's usually in the morning that I eat toast and bed and am not usually fully awake. It's chaos theory.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Toast in bed. I have not eaten my bed. You can't have your bed and eat it.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 24 October 2002 10:52 (twenty-three years ago)

belgian chocolate (dark).

rener, Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Note to self - remember to check out jel's shelf-like bosom at the next ILE/Sinister footie match. If good, attempt to "accidentally" grab in tackle.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:30 (twenty-three years ago)

One was referring to one's own shelf-like.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:55 (twenty-three years ago)

if i have any food by my bed it will be organic dark chocolate. or sometimes tea and toast of a weekend morning. but BOUZE is obv the thing to have by the bed. currently there is quite an old bottle of red wine that will have to be used in cooking now as it's gone a bit vinegary. also in the past port and whisky have lived by my bed (esp if i have been ill!) mm bed. with some whisky and book or hem hem THE CUDDLEMONKEY (he will never forgive me for this) and then to sleep. if only i was there and not here!

katie (katie), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a vacuum cleaner-like bosom so any crumbs are immediately dealt with on the spot.

I once ate an elephant in my pajamas etc etc etc

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:27 (twenty-three years ago)

None regularly, though I have been known to take a bag of crisps up with me.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 24 October 2002 17:28 (twenty-three years ago)

there are much better things to eat in bed than chips....

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 24 October 2002 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

cookies!

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 24 October 2002 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

"we would all have roast beef sandwiches under our pillows."

This reminds me a time when I was 17 and my friend and I put a slab of leftover Prime Rib under my friends mattress. Only to be found a month later when the smell finally got to him.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 24 October 2002 17:44 (twenty-three years ago)

sleeping on a meatress = dud

i gotta say, i'll eat on my bed sometimes, but ppl who keep snacks in their room to eat are pretty much savages

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 12 October 2010 05:59 (fifteen years ago)

altho wasabi peas don't sound that messy so that might be an exception

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 12 October 2010 05:59 (fifteen years ago)

I am not a disgusting savage, so do not eat in bed ever.

Captain Ostensible (Scik Mouthy), Tuesday, 12 October 2010 06:02 (fifteen years ago)

i like to keep a chub under the bed, just in case

miss danilelle steven and her clitoral stimulator (contenderizer), Tuesday, 12 October 2010 06:21 (fifteen years ago)
