dinner: a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a beer!

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:41 (twenty-three years ago)

new "go take your vitamins before you get scurvy" answers

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Was the ice cream served in the beer?

Probably some burger/fries combination. Don't get those that often but once in a while I have an urge.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:43 (twenty-three years ago)

All I done is eat junk this week. I've actually gained 5 lbs because of this. I mean, I went to Red Lobster - hello? Come on. So today I didn't eat so bad but STILL I ate a hot dog! Arrgh. PMS is a bad, bad thing.

Ally, Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yes. Thursday last week I gave into the cravings and had a burger and fries. But this was from the local chain Five Guys, which sets the standard for excellence in hamburgers.

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm a vegetarian, but I eat (and, especially, drink) very unhealthily. Today I had some kind of quorn thing in breadcrumbs with cauliflower. That's my healthiest meal. The joint unhealthiest meals I had were every day Saturday-Tuesday. I had pizza every day. The same pizza.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah, your local equivalent of In-n-Out Burgers, then. It is always good to have such a chain around. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Naturally I mean the same kind of pizza.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:50 (twenty-three years ago)

same timeless ramen + coffee combo

Honda, Thursday, 24 October 2002 00:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I mean, I went to Red Lobster - hello?

WoW, do they still have that endless salad? and ah, endless scampi? There's a reason I was a fat teen. I'm convinced that Chili's is the most evil place nowadays. The awesome-blossom is pretty intense; combine that with some boneless buffalo wings and then some "would you like some fajita's with your sour-cream?".

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:32 (twenty-three years ago)

since i do all the cooking, we eat pretty good by and large, but since i've been lazy we've been eating out a lot. unsuprisingly we're also broke now.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know about the endless salad, but that sounds scary. They do have a kick ass artichoke-lobster-other-unknown-substances dip. Fantastical. We once drove all the way to Wayne, NJ to go to Red Lobster, cos that was the only one I knew the directions to. That's how good that dip is.

Ally, Thursday, 24 October 2002 01:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh man Red Lobster is so vile. Or maybe it's just the local ones, but last time I went I had freezer-burned and undercooked trout with stale chewy almond shavings, accompanied by obviously frozen and thawed vegetables with flavorless white rice. Shockingly bad!!

Worst meal this week: 3/4 box of Triscuits with 3/4 block of cheddar cheese. Although there is a lot of fiber in Triscuits!

Aaron A., Thursday, 24 October 2002 02:08 (twenty-three years ago)

a glass of coffee and a vitamin pill

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 24 October 2002 02:29 (twenty-three years ago)

last night's steak and chips

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 24 October 2002 02:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Chocolate bars for breakfast.

rosemary (rosemary), Thursday, 24 October 2002 02:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Er, probably tonight's meal: grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with french fries. Followed by a chaser of vitamin pills to make up for the nutritional badness (though greasy goodness).

Jen, Thursday, 24 October 2002 02:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I want so desparately to go to Red Lobster for the $9.99 all-you-can-eat shrimp they keep showing on TV.

The same part of me that can't believe I haven't already gone to the new Applebee's on Flatbush in Brooklyn. Is it worth asking if anyone's been there?

Andy, Thursday, 24 October 2002 03:34 (twenty-three years ago)

i am going right now to get 2 burgers and 2 orders of fries.

ron (ron), Thursday, 24 October 2002 05:43 (twenty-three years ago)

The same part of me that can't believe I haven't already gone to the new Applebee's on Flatbush in Brooklyn. Is it worth asking if anyone's been there?

That's the first I've heard of it. Where on Flatbush?

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 05:52 (twenty-three years ago)

pig feet. i shared em with the dog.

unknown or illegal user (doorag), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Sunday night: Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, caesar salad pretty well dressed, very large potato with butter and blue cheese dressing, 6 or more Red Lobster style cheesy garlic butter biscuits, and later that evening another large potato and a burrito... oh, and through the course of things i also had a beer and about a bottle of wine. Yum, though, really...

Glutton aka Stuart, Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:07 (twenty-three years ago)

fried clams with a side of macaroni and cheese

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:08 (twenty-three years ago)

minna (minna), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:34 (twenty-three years ago)

that does not sound yummy

ron (ron), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:41 (twenty-three years ago)

it wasn't. it was lazy and desperate. the only other things in the fridge are caper berries, half a crumbly block of parmesan cheese and the end of a tub of greek yoghurt. and there is no fruit in the house at all except one wrinkly nectarine!

minna (minna), Thursday, 24 October 2002 06:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I had some left over mascarpone from when I made dinner for Mum and Dad, so I've been spreading it on toast for breakfast every morning since then. A fine, fatty way to start the day.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:12 (twenty-three years ago)

a few spoonfulls of nutella

Miss Laura, Thursday, 24 October 2002 07:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 24 October 2002 08:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm supposed to be on a diet - but other half made a lovely mustard, butter, cream sauce to go with my chicken and it was sooo bad it was lovely

Fuzzy Wuzzy (Madam Plinky), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:18 (twenty-three years ago)

can you really ask for chicken gravy?

i had egg fried rice for brek

bob zemko (bob), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Nothing too bad this week, I had a chinese take-away on Sunday, I'd been working in the rain all day and made a bit of cash and decided to buy a take-away instead of going out, cos I had a cold also. I got salted chili spare ribs and chicken which called itself barbecue chilli but was more like sweet and sour sadly.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yes. You can really ask for chicken gravy. It is the juice of the godz0r.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I am eating crackers and ginger biscuits.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:43 (twenty-three years ago)

"Can you really ask for chicken gravy?"

Bob, you haven't LIVED.

Actually I've been off the real shite this week, the unhealthiest thing I've had is probably my marmite-on-toast binge on tuesday. On the other hand I've been snacking way too much.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 24 October 2002 09:57 (twenty-three years ago)

friday, curry, sunday, curry, monday, left-over curry, tuesday, nachos, wednesday, curry. In between meals may have been healthier, but I wouldn't count on it. Damn my (genuine) lettuce allergy!

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:33 (twenty-three years ago)

On Tuesday to cope with RUIN-style hangover I ate chips with some kind of deep fried cheese croquet thing.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

The other day I had doughnuts & coffee for breakfast. But I was still hungry. Then I ate some of this woman's left-over wedding cake she brought in to work. Then I had some Halloween candy that was sitting out on the receptionist's desk. The three food groups.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

fourth food group = insulin

I made a rack of ribs on sunday and had spare ribs three nights in a row. God, ribs.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Thursday, 24 October 2002 11:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Fried pizza supper.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

i did however eat a whole box of graham crackers in like 2 days.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

mmm box of graham crackers.

my living in london meal plan=pithy sandwiches and candy bars...
unless you're in brixton and then i guess kfc is in order?

mary b., Thursday, 24 October 2002 14:01 (twenty-three years ago)

good god, i read that as nancy b. for a minute and suddenly thought i was moving to london.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 14:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, so the Brooklyn Applebee's is right across from Junior's, as I guess it would pretty much have to be.

It's a lot to process.

Andy, Thursday, 24 October 2002 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn my (genuine) lettuce allergy!

what?! how can you be allergic to lettuce when it's 99.999% water?

minna (minna), Thursday, 24 October 2002 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

It's the 0.00001% that does all the damage.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:33 (twenty-three years ago)

jesus h christ do you even KNOW how much kfc i've eaten over the years and i have never ONCE HEARD of "the gravy". fuX0r. i mean i've even got the special customer account steelo where they give you an extra wing or 2

bob zemko (bob), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I keep telling myself I've started my diet, but last night I managed to sneak in five chocolate cookies. Not just any chocolate cookies -- some kind of Keebler thing with caramel inside and chocolate coating.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:41 (twenty-three years ago)

haha jody those are candy bars, don't delude yourself.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:46 (twenty-three years ago)

again, tapeworms is the way to go. everyone wins!

bob zemko (bob), Thursday, 24 October 2002 16:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Rosemary, we are made for each other: a bar of chocolate is my standard breakfast. My idea of a balanced diet is eating crisps and ice cream as well as chocolate.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 24 October 2002 19:33 (twenty-three years ago)

yesterday i had four plain chocolate hob nobs for lunch.

today i went to the healthy restaurant 3 blocks away to make penance for this, and it was very yummy.

maura (maura), Thursday, 24 October 2002 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

you can't lose with ice cream.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 24 October 2002 20:36 (twenty-three years ago)
