Yes, I bought a copy in Bruges/Belgium. Think it was the first issue, with Chloe Sevigny.

at swim, two boys, Saturday, 26 October 2002 10:28 (twenty-three years ago)

bob zemko (bob), Saturday, 26 October 2002 11:07 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah pencil drawings of cocks

there was once a nice picture of a boy slamming his friend with his skateboard on his...well, butt, in the note he said that his friend was straight but that he liked to be beaten up with his skateboard

"for pain"

Both Kutt... http://www.xs4all.nl/~fan/ and www.buttmagazine.com are indexed online. No content though and you can't pick em up where I am, but a Tillmans exhibit just opened yesterday at the Busch-Reisinger in Cambridg, MA

Mat Bo (Mat Bo), Sunday, 27 October 2002 02:42 (twenty-three years ago)

four years pass...

This magazine kicks ass.

I know, right?, Sunday, 29 July 2007 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

What ever happened to Kutt, and who was behind it and such, does anyone know? I never once saw a copy or read anything remotely informative online. Jop Van Benkom is brilliant though. I doubt he would've bothered with Kutt, it seems much too personal.

Joke... or Not A Joke?

wanko ergo sum, Sunday, 29 July 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

I can't imagine a shop in Bruges that would have had this, let alone the first issue. There has never been a woman in Butt. There was a man who used to be a woman. It was not Chloe Sevigny.

I know, right?, Sunday, 29 July 2007 22:26 (eighteen years ago)

Butt is absolutely amazing and delightfully raunchy. It's always so expensive, though...

But they did this amazing interview with John Waters: http://www.buttmagazine.com/?p=172

There's book that compiles some choice cuts from the magazine, too.

There's a book, I meant to say.

Drew Daniel, Monday, 30 July 2007 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

I approve of BUTT.

elmo argonaut, Monday, 30 July 2007 04:16 (eighteen years ago)

THUMBS UP, BUTT

impudent harlot, Monday, 30 July 2007 05:02 (eighteen years ago)

nice comma

robotsinlove, Monday, 30 July 2007 07:13 (eighteen years ago)

BUTT BOOK is classic.

I know, right?, Monday, 30 July 2007 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

I have no recollection of buying that magazine above. So I don't know whether that was a joke or not. Probably not. I have no sense of humour at all.

nathalie, Monday, 30 July 2007 12:54 (eighteen years ago)

three months pass...

i saw a copy of the book. it's the first ten issues, i think?

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

the book doesn't contain any full issues, it's more of a "best of" collection

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:06 (eighteen years ago)

T/S: BUTT vs. Scum Bag Fag Mag

i've never seen the latter in print or anything, but have browsed the site --> yummeh yum yum

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

i sort of want it

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

it's a pretty good read, though i couldn't give half a fuck about some of the interviewees (e.g. casey spooner or marc jacobs, who cares?)

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

the book doesn't contain any full issues, it's more of a "best of" collection

No, Vahid is right, the book is the complete ten first issues in full.

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

sorry to have to quote Amazon, but srsly:

"this book is a 'best of' compilation of the first 17 issues of BUTT"

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

actually you are right elmo. sorry. best of first 17 issues.

xp

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

i actually have this and got totally excited when i saw it was coming out but then never read a word of it.

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

nude matmos pictures included in price of admission, fwiw

o_o!

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

why does it seem like it's the first 10 issues? somehow i very strongly got that impresssion when i browsed through it?

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:27 (eighteen years ago)

this magazine, on the other hand, truly is great:

http://www.lifeclever.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/fantasticman.jpg

it's from the same people but somehow BUTT never really interested me other than as an object.

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:28 (eighteen years ago)

i WILL read the Matos interview though.

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

er.. MATMOS

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

fantastic man looks great -- way pricey, tho!

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

trying to judge the ratio of good writing : hott beefcake in the butt mag comp. not that i don't have mild bi-curious interest in hott beefcake but i could always just go to my three-foot-high stack of arena homme plus for that.

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

I got a subscription for FM from my own fantastic man this birthday.

jed_, Monday, 12 November 2007 19:41 (eighteen years ago)

intrigued by fantastic man (but at work so not googling it until later)

i always flip through butt at bookstores without ever actually buying it

impudent harlot, Monday, 12 November 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

KAISERIN is an independent bi-annual magazine published in France.

"Bi"-annual, is it? You don't say.

kenan, Monday, 10 December 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)
