Joe (Joe), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Aw.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:26 (twenty-three years ago)

What is that, exactly?

(The first person to say "A cat" gets a punch in the face next I see them)

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it's supposed to be a sheep.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

It looks like a sheep ottoman. I mean it's like no sheep toy I ever seen.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree with you about the "sheep ottoman" thing. But they're both darling.

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 27 October 2002 23:54 (twenty-three years ago)

All sheep stuffed animals somehow look incredibly mutated. I grew up with this one with bug eyes and a dubious "body". Unless it wasn't a sheep.....

Honda, Monday, 28 October 2002 00:17 (twenty-three years ago)

It's what the mysterious lyric in "Work It" refers to

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 28 October 2002 00:22 (twenty-three years ago)

AT LONG LAST.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 28 October 2002 01:15 (twenty-three years ago)

is that the light or has it got something stuck to its head? like a flat fish thing.
maybe thats what the cat wants.
yes yes i know its the light, it just looks like a flat fish.

donna (donna), Monday, 28 October 2002 02:29 (twenty-three years ago)

no, it IS a fish! or a fish-hat.
or a scar from where they chopped the poor thing open before stuffing it.
ovine fashion statement?
actually it should be much more grubby to be realistic. needs those daggy bits hanging off the back.

donna (donna), Monday, 28 October 2002 03:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The cat knows it's fake. You'd have to get up pretty early to pull the wool over the cats eyes!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 28 October 2002 12:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Could we please get some more history on the sheep? I'm intrigued by what sort of work history it might possibly have? Mower? Decoy? Stripper? Exotic dancer? ... Perhaps a stint in a Scottish brothel? A rear shot of the sheep might be helpful for identification purposes.

Also, is it possible that the sheep might be sneaking online while Joe is away? (Perhaps the cat knows something we don't.) I personally know of at least three men who are having an online affair with sheep. At least one of their wives has taken to baa-ing in a desperate bid to recapture her husband's interest but he claims she's lost that wooly feeling. *shrug*

Tsk. It's very sad, really.

Sometimes I ask myself, what is this world coming to?

ragnfild (ragnfild), Monday, 28 October 2002 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

It is not a sheep, actually. Well, not a real one. But it's not a fake sheep, either. It's a different animal altogether. The other animal, of course, is a real cat.

Joe (Joe), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 01:58 (twenty-three years ago)

es un elefante

ejad, Tuesday, 29 October 2002 02:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe the black bits on top are dual blowholes, suggesting some kind of aquatic sheep-whale hybrid.

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 11:39 (twenty-three years ago)

It looks, what with its sad long sheepy face, like the benevolent ancient creatures (as opposed to the nasty ancient creatures) from "The Dark Crystal". But that was a whole yin-yang situation anyhow, so there's probably a Skeksi* lurking in the background somewhere. Classic Henson!

* My sweet lord, but I'm a geek.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I supposed that is the singular of Skeksis, isn't it? Embrace thy geekdom -- I watched it Saturday night (friend hadn't seen it and I thought she would like it, and I was right!).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

That kitty looks very sweet.

I think it would be funny to put some catnip inside the sheep and see if the kitty tried to beat it up. Mine probably would.

"For the first time in her nine lives, Callie was puzzled as she faced the Trojan Sheep."

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

You guys, that's so obviously a horse it isn't even funny.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 14:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Note to self: Do NOT send Dang Perry out to buy lamb chops.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

"Mmm...you know, the mint sauce can't cover up the gaminess."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Since when do sheep have MANES?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought that white bit on top of the sheep is the gaping wounds oozing stuffing from where the cat has kicked it's ass.

and the cat is now standing back and saying "now what, bitch! you want some more?"

ron (ron), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Today the role of the kitty will be played by Christina Aguilera.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

There are perversities now being suggested I have to ask remain unexplored.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

It's obviously the cat's birthday, and that is a sheep pinata filled with cat biscuits/treat things. On close scrutiny I think the cat has one ear pointing slightly backwards, indicating it has heard a noise stage left - this would be all its feline friends arriving for the party no doubt. It'll be mouse bruschetta canapes and magpie milkshake cocktails all round, a bit of dancing, someone will get off with the ugly tomcat from number 34 (the one with the mangled tail), and later they will all pounce on the pinata, beat it with tiny sticks, and rip it to shreds in search of the treasure concealed within. Like you do.

Happy birthday, kitty, btw!

C J (C J), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it child porn? (I have never seen any)

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

N., are you asking if the thing the cat is looking at is child porn? Because imagine the police breaking into someone's apartment and finding gigabytes of pictures of amorphous grey animal ottomans on the computer...

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 16:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I just to mask a laughing fit with coughing.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 16:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Err - make that 'just had to..'

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 16:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Its a horse with its legs cut off. (like that song by America - Horse With No Legs.... "Ive been thru the desert on a horse with no legs, it felt good to be out of the rain...etc )
