Cromer, Remembered

Over time, many layers piled up, squashing the shells and making the layers hard, compact and thick – turning them into rocks. When sea level lowered, the reef became exposed to the air. Soil eventually covered the exposed reef, and enabled trees and other plants to grow and cover the old reef

David (David), Monday, 28 October 2002 21:16 (twenty-three years ago)

ah David so you're still alive: write to me offlist, please :).

I get the feeling Gareth's quoting from an old Shell guide here, though I might be wrong.

should we go to cromer?

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 11:40 (twenty years ago)

I went there a lot as a child. Don't remember much. Campsite on a cliffside, worrying my brother would fall off the cliff, watching the Red Arrows over the sea, rubber rings, long grass.

Laura and I knew the place (indeed, pretty much all of the Norfolk coastline) very well. She was an ace photographer, and as soon as I can figure out how to do it I will post some of her pictures.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 12:09 (twenty years ago)

It's kind of corduroy, I think. It obviously made mad patternz on the camera.

As a former resident of Britain's EAST ANGLIA, I have been to Cromer many times.

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 14:06 (twenty years ago)

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 19 July 2005 14:06 (twenty years ago)

We went for a day to Cromer whilst we were in Norfolk because I needed to eat my own weight in crab sandwiches. I tried.
