I'm really curious. What's their deal?

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 17:08 (twenty-three years ago)

"Automatic High" is a really good tune.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I really dislike them, but my mate Suzy who works on a teen mag went to interview them dreading it, thinking they'd all be stage school brats. She came back saying they were lovely and sweet and polite.

But then Sooze is a million times more tolerant than me.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 17:31 (twenty-three years ago)

They are the young version of S-Club, they were all choosen on some TV show that was on Children's BBC last year.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I knew someone would find a way of bringing back 'Mini Pops' to our screens.

DavidM (DavidM), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

(But you put with me Anna!)

I haven't really liked any of the songs, but I've barely heard them.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham is the missing word "up" or "out"?

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 18:50 (twenty-three years ago)

they're not selling as many records as S Club 7...are they supposed to? why arent they if so?

blueski, Tuesday, 29 October 2002 21:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Um...no tie-in TV Show? 7 is too many for a pop group, sez conventional wisdom. S Club went against that but they had the TV show to establish themselves. Also anyone older than/same age as S Club Jrs is not going to think they're cool. Also Superboy comics never sold as much as Superman ones.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 23:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Are there pictures? This seems like a very and strange and rather stupid idea to me! Plus the name makes me think of toddlers.

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Tuesday, 29 October 2002 23:58 (twenty-three years ago)

'Mini Pops'! I found their LP yesterday, complete with 'novelty mix' and 'Blondie medley', could S Club Juniors be that good?

alex (alex), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 00:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude, sclubjuniors.com is total Flash mayhem! I think my favorite Junior is Calvin. "Calvin is a hot-rockin' nu-metaller! When he's not annoying the neighbours with his stereo, Calvin can usually be found on his mobile phone (his favourite possession) or street skating."

What a punkass!

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 07:49 (twenty-three years ago)

I *love* One Step Closer to Heaven! I don't know what I think of the band itself, but that song is great! I happily play it when DJing (and it doesn't always clear the dancefloor).

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 09:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh ooh, I forgot One Step Closer To Heaven, that one is ace.

(Tom: Sorry no missing word, I just meant putt - Y'know, crazy-golf. On rollerblades)

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 11:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I frequently play roller-crazy golf with Graham's head, using a flamingo as a club. It's the new croquet.

Queen of Hearts (Anna), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 12:29 (twenty-three years ago)

sometarts.com?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

My outfits for this have been described as "daring" before, but that HURT Tim.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 13:19 (twenty-three years ago)

TBH I'm just gutted that the name ilxor.com was decided upon before the sometarts.com masterstroke was invented.

someplanks.com might be even better.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 13:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Off with his head Queenie!

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 13:26 (twenty-three years ago)

:-)

Cheshire Cat (Anna), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 13:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Cheshire Cat (Anna), Wednesday, 30 October 2002 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

brilliant tunes & choreography. "lovely and sweet and polite" kids who appear genuinely thankful to be where they are - bringing a fun attitude to pop - basically having the time of their lives. the only other people who've seemed to be having as much fun on TOTP this year were DJ Marky and Jarvis.

but I'd put the music first - for a 'prepackaged' act, this is damn great stuff! (signed, a fan - can u tell?)

Paul (scifisoul), Thursday, 31 October 2002 17:26 (twenty-three years ago)

New Direction is great. I had one of those "This intro is so fantastic, I really REALLY hope it doesn't turn into a song I hate" moments yesterday, listening to the chart.

Graham (graham), Monday, 11 November 2002 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I like the production on that song.

A Nairn (moretap), Monday, 11 November 2002 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

sam cave, Tuesday, 9 September 2003 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw a trailer for some show they were on that said "they've grown up" (to intorduce the fact they were now S club 8 presumably) and I thought "How could they have? They only appeared 6 months ago!"
